June 2023[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Augend. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati have been undone because they appeared to be promotional. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted; Wikipedia articles should be written objectively, using independent sources, and from a neutral perspective. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. Augend (drop a line) 17:24, 17 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. At least one of your edits on the page Darling (magazine), while it may have been in good faith, was difficult to distinguish from vandalism. To help other editors understand the reason for the changes, you can use an edit summary for your contributions. You can also take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Please review the difference between its and it's. Hello, I'm Augend. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I noticed that you unlinked one or more redlinks from Sarah Zar. Redlinks are useful and can often be helpful, so we don't remove them just because they are red. They help improve Wikipedia by attracting editors to create needed articles.

In addition, clicking on the "What links here" link (in the tools listed at the left in desktop view) on a missing article shows how many—and which—articles depend on that article being created. This can help prioritize article creation. Please only remove a redlink if you are pretty sure that it is to a non-notable topic and not likely ever to be created. Further, addition of WP:UNRELIABLE sources. Augend (drop a line) 17:27, 17 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

You have an obvious conflict of interest, please don't write about yourself, your friends or relatives and read the guidance below:

  • When you write about a person, you must provide independent verifiable sources to enable us to verify the facts and show that they meet the notability guidelines. Sources that are not acceptable include those linked to the person or an associated organisation, press releases, YouTube, IMDB, social media and other sites that can be self-edited, blogs, websites of unknown or non-reliable provenance, and sites that are just reporting what the person claims or interviewing them. Note that references should be in-line so we can tell what fact each is supporting, and should not be bare urls.
  • Most of your refs are unsuitable, as stated above you mustn't use social media or IMDB. If you are claiming to have received awards, source them to the awarding website, not IMDB, and Facebook is irrelevant, your notability, as defined above, doesn't depend on what social media thinks.
  • You can't show that you meet those notability criteria without proper independent third-party refs
  • You must write in a non-promotional tone. Articles must be neutral and encyclopaedic, with verifiable facts, not opinions or reviews.
For someone who claims not to be advertising, there is plenty of self-praise. You write using your first name instead of surname and say: He is known for his multi-talents... his imagination would often run wild... His dream became true when he carved a niche for himself... he has emerged as one of the select few Egyptian animation artists who have garnered acclaim from both critics and audiences... Roshdy embarked on a multifaceted career...— and that's just from Early Life! We want real facts, not what you think of your talent.
  • There shouldn't be any url links in the article, only in the "References" or "External links" sections.
  • You must not copy text from elsewhere. Copyrighted text is not allowed in Wikipedia, as outlined in this policy. That applies even to pages created by you or your organisation, unless they state clearly and explicitly that the text is public domain. We require that text posted here can be used, modified and distributed for any purpose, including commercial; text is considered to be copyright unless explicitly stated otherwise. There are ways to donate copyrighted text to Wikipedia, as described here; please note that simply asserting on the talk page that you are the owner of the copyright, or you have permission to use the text, isn't sufficient.
  • I didn't check since I was deleting anyway, but blocks of text without wikilinks raise some concern that it's been pasted from somewhere

Not reasons for deletion, but note the following.

  • Your text had hardly any wikilinks
  • Headings should be in sentence case
  • Don't keep repeating the same ref. if you have multiple occurrences, use <ref name=''name''> instead of <ref> on the first occurrence and <ref name=''name''/> thereafter

Before attempting to write an article again, please make sure that the topic meets the notability criteria linked above, and check that you can find independent third party sources. Also read Your first article. If you are writing about yourself, or someone you know as a friend, colleague, client, employer or relative, you have a conflict of interest, and you must disclose the nature of that COI.
