Invitation to participate in the Accountancy Task Force

[edit]

If you are interested in working in collaboration with Wikipedia members on improving the article Accountancy, you will be pleased to hear that the Accountancy task force has been set up and is seeking participants who can assist with the article's overhaul. Perhaps you would like to provide verifiable content on this subject matter, in which case your input could be invaluable. Alternatively we are also seeking participants who can help with the systematic sorting of related accountancy articles into meaningful categories, an activity that does not require undertaking research but will nonetheless help improve the quality of the article's links. Either way, the task force would like to hear from you! --Gavin Collins 19:22, 2 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

International terminology

[edit]

I've been working on citing financial ratio using US books as citations, because the books I have are US books. Can you help add UK citations and terminology to this article? And if you know anyone who can help contribute citations for ratios that are not cited in the article, this would be very helpful! --Foggy Morning (talk) 01:36, 26 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Can you please include citations with your edits? --Foggy Morning (talk) 06:39, 12 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

{{helpme}} I want to move the list of professional organisations in the Accountancy article into a new page (called, presumably, List of Accountancy Professional Organisations or something) Can I do this?
What do I need to establish before the list can be regarded as meeting Wikipedia policy?
Is there anything else I need to do or be sure of before I create the list on a new page?
Thanks. AnthonyUK (talk) 13:09, 12 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

hmmm You can do that, but before you do, consider if the resultant article is notable enough, and also what I would do would make a main article link underneath the current header instead of the text. None the less, be Bold!.--KerotanLeave Me a Message Have a nice day :) 17:36, 12 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I considered doing this some time back but never got around to it. It makes sense. Accountancy Bodies or Professional Accountancy Bodies or Accounting Professional Bodies the exact term may require a bit of chopping and changing! NilssonDenver (talk) 00:26, 7 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Now done. List of accountancy bodies AnthonyUK (talk) 22:47, 8 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Just for completeness I added Bookkeeping associations It has one entry so far! --NilssonDenver (talk) 00:24, 13 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sources for accountancy

[edit]

If the term accountancy is to be used as a primary article in Wikipedia -- as a redirect for the more general term accounting -- we truly need some solid references that use the term accountancy. Can you please work on this? As I said before, it's not a USA or international term in general use, and none of my reference books mention this term "accountancy". I'm open to being informed by good sources and sharing that information with Wikipedia readers, but right now I'm not seeing any good sources that discuss "accountancy". Please help if you can. Many thanks. --Foggy Morning (talk) 01:05, 22 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Social accounting in accountancy

[edit]

Thanks for your feedback. I can also see it in that section. In the next couple of days or so I'll come up with a paragraph that corresponds to the section Shadesofx (talk) 12:38, 29 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Accountancy task force

[edit]

Hello, this message is being sent to you since you are a member of the Accountancy task force. This is just a heads-up that the task force has been expanded with new features and its main page modified. Now that the task force has assessed over 800 articles in its scope, a breakdown can be seen of the quality of articles. A new userbox can be added to your page, and if you know of a editor contributing to accounting articles, a welcoming template can be used to invite the editor to join the task force. If you haven't already, consider watchlisting the main discussion page. There is currently a discussion about adding a template to some main accounting topics that would benefit from input by other editors. Feel free to leave feedback on the discussion page for further improving these new features. Happy editing! --Nehrams2020 (talk) 07:29, 14 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
