Charnockite

I think the following portion of text in the trivia section could be removed.

The photographer, who has uploaded the photo on flickr, has given a succinct text explaining the rock and mineral components of the statue thus:

the green jacket is nephrite Jade (originally a 980 kg (2,160.5 lb) block from the Yukon, Canada); the red cuffs and collar are made of Thulite from Norway; the trousers are Larvikite from the western shores of Oslo Fjord in Norway; the head and hands are in porcelain; the shoes and socks are black charnockite granite from Bangalore, South India. Finally, Oscar is seated in a 35 tonne boulder of quartz from the Wicklow Mountains, Ireland. Wonderful as it is, it's pretty creepy...

It is the personal, self-published opinion of the uploader and could not be considered appropriate enough to be mentioned here. As for the rest of the article, it does look good. I confess my ignorance about geology and rocks and I don't think I am competent enough to analyze that portion. By the way, I am extremely sorry for having forgotten about that message you posted in my talkpage sometime back. • I have found more references in published books though not as clearly mentioned as in the flicker photo caption. There is also a book on Geology of the Statue but the text is not digitized and displayed. The following are the references.

“In the park opposite this house is a statue of Oscar Wilde gloriously decoarted with semi-precious stones – blue pearl granite trousers, jacket of jade, shoes of granite –reclining on a white quartz rock and holding a green carnation to his breast ( and nicknamed by the populace as ‘the quare in the square’ or the ‘queer with the sneer’- look at his expression…”. .The shoes and the socks are said to be of Charncokite from India. From wiki article on Oscar Wilde - "In Merrion Square, inside the north west corner gateway, there is a statue of Oscar Wilde composed of different coloured stone, sitting on a large granite boulder. Yeah, you can combine all the three references and add a text. There is no problem if the book is not digitized. You can add it as an offline reference and provide citations. The article it titled Charnockite, St. Thomas Mount and not Charnockite (there is s seperate older article on Charnockite); Hence the full title has to be bolded by removing the 'in' and introducing a comma instead. Yes, I'm glad to help with some of the problems with the article. :) It's quite nice to see your enthusiasm; you obviously put a lot of work into the article. The Wikipedia Manual of Style asks that authors use italics on generic an specific names. That means all dinosaur names appear in italics: Rajasaurus instead of The Rajasaurus. We also try to source our work to peer-reviewed papers instead of newspapers, when possible: local news editors often don't know enough about science to use their work extensively in a Wikipedia article. Also, don't forget the difference between a genus and a species: anything that ends in a -saurus is a genus; Tyrannosaurus is a genus. Tyrannosaurus rex is a species. Hi Nvv,

Thanks for your note on my talk page, and all of your hard work on the article. I added a few links to the bottom of the page, and the article, which was 3,421 bytes, is now 17,121 bytes... still five times larger. It shouldn't be a problem to get this to DYK (I've suggested an alternate hook, BTW, so that it avoids the word 'species'). I want to thank you for your enthusiasm editing on this topic; while there were a few errors, it's nice to see someone take an interest in an Indian dinosaur, and hopefully this will encourage Indians in the Wikicommunity.

Regarding the picture of the sculpture: yes, please take one (or several). India apparently has a liberal law of panorama[1], meaning it should be ok to upload your photos of sculptures to Commons. A picture of the model would make the article even better. If you are interested in contributing more to English Wikipedia's dinosaur articles (since there are 28 other articles in Category:Dinosaurs of India and Madagascar), you should probably join WikiProject Dinosaurs, as the other members can get you started with links to peer-reviewed papers and other nice sources for articles. And if not, it was a pleasure working with someone willing to work with other editors in creating this article.

I noticed that Phumdi has too many links and violated WP:OVERLINK. Please read WP:OVERLINK.
