Logo for Malleable Iron Range Company?
Hello, can you please add to the infobox the logo for this company? Even if copyrighted, under WP:Fair use you can upload one image of a copyrighted logo to an article on said company, using the "Upload file" option in the links on the left-side column of your screen. Just ensure you check the right boxes to indicate that you're uploading a logo of Malleable Iron Range Company under "Fair Use" and will be using the logo only on the exact page Malleable Iron Range Company.
Let me know if you have any trouble. Also, please don't forget to add WP:Categories to your article; not "tags" like "Iron", "Companies", "Wisconsin", but as precise as possible" cats like "Companies founded in 19XX", "Metalworking companies of Wisconsin" and whatnot. It might be easiest just to check out an article on a similar company and see what cats that article used, to get an idea.
Nice work, hope to see more articles from you once you catch your breath! MatthewVanitas (talk) 01:27, 14 September 2013 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Peerless-Premier Appliance Co
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Peerless-Premier Appliance Co requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. RadioFan (talk) 00:54, 21 March 2014 (UTC)
- I don't see that I deleted this page (I checked my deletions for the past year), but anyhow I'm happy to undelete for you to work on in your userspace. I remember seeing your name lately and checking Malleable Iron Range Company (which looked good especially seeing the Wisconsin State Journal references). I undeleted it and put it here: User:Nyth83/Peerless-Premier Appliance Company. Please improve it with enough verification from several reliable sources so that you don't have to worry about it being deleted again before you post it. I can review it and give you my opinion on notability if you want. Royalbroil 03:11, 21 March 2014 (UTC)
- I looked at Metal Ware Corporation per your request and I think it looks good. VERY impressive for a first article! I've never assessed a first-time article as C class - a high assessment. You are using good reliable sources with quality newspapers sources. I suggest providing wikilinks to the newspapers' article would help demonstrate to everyone that they are owned by Gannett which proves that they're solid. I know that it is more difficult to prove that businesses are notable since it's easy for their articles to sound like marketing. I highly recommend making an article in your userspace until you have plenty of sources - which I see that you've already discovered with this. I'm glad that you're interested in List of major home appliance manufacturers because it's a poorly-covered topic here on Wikipedia.
- Some tips: Check out the video at Help:Referencing for beginners. If you look at the top of the edit window, there is a blue header (refToolbar) - click on the "Cite" tab and use the Templates dropdown menu to select web and newspaper (listed as "news") sources. More types of templates are available if you want to do referencing manually. Another huge tip is using a reference multiple times using named references - see WP:NAMEDREFERENCES.
- Thank you for volunteering your time! I like how Wikipedia helps all of the English-speaking humanity. I'm glad to meet another person from my area (northeast / east central Wisconsin). Royalbroil 12:35, 22 March 2014 (UTC)
- The article is up at Peerless-Premier Appliance Company. I think it looks good - because you have a bunch of different newspapers and magazines to prove that it passes Wikipedia:Notability (organizations and companies). I added categories to it [1] and relevant WikiProjects to its talk page [2]. Please note that the number is external links should be quite minimal per WP:ELNO [3]. Good job! Speedy deletion declined: User:Nyth83/Metal Ware Corporation
Hello Nyth83, and thanks for patrolling new pages! I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of User:Nyth83/Metal Ware Corporation, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: This appears to have been an improper COPY/PASTE move from userspace to articlespace. This draft should have been MOVED - the intervening edits need to become part of the history of the article. Please request a WP:HISTMERGE. You may wish to review the Criteria for Speedy Deletion before tagging further pages. Thank you. the panda ₯’ 11:21, 14 June 2014 (UTC)
Kohler
I know that MPL has a microfilm library for the Press that ranges through their entire history, so you'd be able to find the list there. However research like that isn't usually my forte, and I honestly didn't know they had a Press index. I can certainly plan to make a Kohler trip to get in a picture of the Walderhaus sometime next month, or anything else you might need out there. Nate • (chatter) 02:39, 28 June 2014 (UTC)
