Non-free rationale for File:SerpentineAmazonVertical.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:SerpentineAmazonVertical.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F6 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 21:27, 22 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination of Serpentine: The Short Program for deletion

[edit]

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Serpentine: The Short Program is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Serpentine: The Short Program until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. John from Idegon (talk) 13:25, 31 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The article First World (film) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

NN indie film, fails WP:NFILM and the GNG. The creation of a SPA whose sole Wikipedia activity seems to be to promote the producer and his three short indie films.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. Please do not remove Articles for deletion notices from articles, or remove other people's comments in Articles for deletion debates, as you did with Justice Is Mind. Otherwise, it may be difficult to create consensus. If you oppose the deletion of an article, please comment at the respective page instead. Thank you. Ravenswing 12:20, 1 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Warning icon Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to remove Articles for deletion notices or comments from articles and Articles for deletion pages, as you did at Justice Is Mind, you may be blocked from editing. Cease removing the AfD templates from the article at once. If you disagree with the filing, comment at the AfD page. Ravenswing 12:27, 1 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

You aren't following Wiki guidelines at all. Rather this is just some sort of ridiculous attempt to remove this article for no reason.

Stop icon You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you remove an Articles for deletion notice or a comment from an AfD discussion, as you did at Justice Is Mind. Ravenswing 12:35, 1 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

YOu know as well as I that you just can't do whatever you want on Wiki. You must also follow guidelines as well. You aren't.

Now ...

[edit]

... that you're on ice for a bit, I realize that you're an inexperienced editor here, and unaware of some rules:

  • You cannot remove AfD templates from the article, and any repetition of you doing so will result in longer and longer blocks. Your sole recourse is to contribute to the discussion on the proper AfD page, using and citing proper policies and guidelines. ("He's trying to delete the article for NO REASON" is not an argument editors at AfD view favorably, by contrast.) I recommend you review WP:Deletion policy to understand this process, and what editors can and cannot do.
  • That synopsis was taken word-for-word from the film's copyrighted website. [1] This is a violation of WP:COPYVIO, you are not allowed to do that, and it is a serious enough violation that admins can remove the diffs from public view altogether. To quote from the policy: "Contributors who repeatedly post copyrighted material despite appropriate warning may be blocked from editing by any administrator to prevent further problems."
  • Statements liable to challenge must be supported by inline citations that back up the statement made. A mere link to Giorgio's restaurant website does not back up the statement that it was a filming location for this film, is a misleading and improper use of the source, and is properly removed. I expect I'll find more such. I strongly urge you to review WP:GNG and gain a better understanding on the proper uses of sources to bolster notability.
  • You have stated in edit summaries that you have a connection either to Lund or his films, and your sole Wikipedia activity focuses around them. You may, therefore, be running afoul of WP:COI, which strongly discourages editing in such cases.
  • Finally, you'd be well served by having a better handle on Wikipedia policies and guidelines generally, if your goal is to be a productive editor here. I recommend the Teahouse or the Adoptee's Area as places where you can get questions answered or find a mentor.
