Speedy deletion nomination of User:BrooklynProjects/sandbox[edit]
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on User:BrooklynProjects/sandbox, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly defined criteria, then it may soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:

- Now that you've successly had your username changed, you should follow the instructions given in the above template and request an WP:UNBLOCK. Since your account was WP:SOFTBLOCKed (i.e. blocked because of an inappropriate username), getting unblocked should be non-contentious.Once your account has been unblocked, you should declare your COI/paid editing status (see the discussion thread below) if you plan on using this account to continue try and create or edit content about your company. One important thing to related to COI/paid editing is that Wikipedia's relevant policies and guidelines related to COI/paid editing apply to the person doing the editing, not the account per se; so, even if you decide to create a new account and use that instead, you will still be expected to comply with these policies and guidelines. Another thing to understand is that relevant Wikipedia policy doesn't allow accounts to be shared among different individuals; so, if you want to pass the baton to someone else at your company, they will need to first create their own account and then also need to comply with relevant Wikipedia policies and guidelines related to COI/paid editing.Lastly, everything you post on any Wikipedia or other Wikimedia Foundation project page (e.g. Commons) is public in the sense that anyone who wants to see can pretty much see it as explained here; even if it's removed from a page, there will still be a record of it in the page's history. So, you should keep that in mind when trying to create or edit content about your company or posting information about yourself. There are lots of savvy Wikipedians who are quite adept at detecting undisclosed paid editing; so, your best chance at creating an article about your company is to try to be as transparent about it as possible and not try to sneak something by. FWIW, there are almost certainly more companies in the world without Wikipedia articles written about them than there are those with articles written about them. Wikipedia is not intended to be way to promote or otherwise publicize a company's activities, and any attempt to do so is likely going to be shut down fairly quickly. Conflict of interest editing[edit]
Hello, BrooklynProjects. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for article subjects for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization, clients, or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{edit COI}} template)—don't forget to give details of reliable sources supporting your suggestions;
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest § How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam § External link spamming);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

- If the company you work at satisfies the criteria listed in either Wikipedia:Notability or Wikipedia:Notability (organizations and companies), then a Wikipedia article can be created about it by you or anyone else who wants to as long as they comply with relevant Wikipedia policies and guidelines; if it doesn't, then nobody is going to be able to create an article about it. So, you're going to need to self-assess whether your company meets either of those guidelines; a good place to start for companies is here.If after doing some self-assessing you still want to try to create an article about your company, the first thing you're going to need to do is address the issue with your username as explained in the discussion thread above. You can find out some more about this here or in the instructions given above in the blocking notification template. Once you've resolved your username problem and your account is unblocked, you should follow the guidance given here and formally declare your connection to your company; the easiest way to do this is by using Template:Paid as explained here. Once you declared your connection, you can then start a draft by following the instructions given at Wikipedia:Articles for creation (AfC). When you feel the draft is ready for review, you can submit it and an AfC reveiwer will assess it. If the draft is approved by the reviewer, they will upgrade to article status; if not, they will explain why and you can continue to work on it and re-submit again when you feel it's ready for another review. If you create a draft and it's approved as an article, neither you nor your company will have any type of final editorial control over the article's content. You won't be able to "lock" the article to prevent others unconnected to your company from directly editing it, but their edits (positive or negative) will be assessed to see whether they're in accordance with relevant Wikipedia policies and guidelines. If, however, you or anyone else at your company wants to make changes, you or they will be expected to do so by posting edit requests on the article's talk page. Such requests will be assessed, and the changes will be made if they're in accordance with relevant Wikipedia policies and guidelines.What I've described above it basically the same process that everyone trying to create an article about something to which they're considered to have a conflict of interest is expected to go through. You might find people online who will promise you the moon (i.e. guarantee they can create a Wikipedia article about your company), but such people are either lying to you or have little knowledge of how Wikipedia works. So, before you pay anyone anything to create such an article, I strongly suggest you take a look at Wikipedia:Articles for creation/Scam warning. - Hi Paul, I have unblocked you following your username change. As Marchjuly points out above, promotional editing is not allowed, and your company can only have a Wikipedia page if it is "notable," which is how we determine if a subject is important enough to have a page in Wikipedia. If your company has been covered by multiple reliable secondary sources that are independent of your company (for example, news stories or articles in trade magazines), it will be a good subject for a Wikipedia article. See the guidelines here. If not (most companies are not!), your article will not be published. Moreover, if the article you write is spammy and promotional in nature (rather than written from a neutral point of view), your account will likely be blocked again.
