Template:Chitral-geo-stub has been nominated for renaming
[edit]Template:Chitral-geo-stub has been nominated for renaming. A discussion is taking place to decide whether this proposal complies with the stub template guidelines. If you would like to participate in the discussion, you are invited to add your comments at the template's entry on the categories for discussion page. Thank you. –LaundryPizza03 (dc̄) 19:00, 19 November 2023 (UTC)
A tag has been placed on Category:Union Councils of Upper Kohistan District, Pakistan indicating that it is currently empty, and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion. If it remains empty for seven days or more, it may be deleted under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and removing the speedy deletion tag. Liz Read! Talk! 06:48, 25 November 2023 (UTC)
May I add "Russia-bio-stub" to Alexander Vasilyevich Alexandrov? He *is* a Russian person.
[edit]I'm not sure if a page should only have one stub, even though it refers to two different things. I don't believe that the stub article ever mentioned that. Положение my page right there 01:08, 6 December 2023 (UTC)
- By all means! Articles frequently have more than one stub template. Thanks for asking. Her Pegship (?) 01:09, 6 December 2023 (UTC)
- Not related but how do i add side pages? Like this: User:Pegship/userboxes Polozhenie, or for THAT type of people, Nonoxehne 01:56, 6 December 2023 (UTC)
- In the location bar of your browser, you can just put
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Name/subpage
and when you press <enter> you can create the subpage. Hope this helps - Her Pegship (?) 19:48, 6 December 2023 (UTC)

Pyrausta disambiguation
[edit]Your Pegship!
First, merry Christmas--or whatever you celebrate or observe in this season.
Thanks for the heads-up about your proposal to change that Pyrausta stub template I created a few years ago. I think that was one of my first forays into creating stub categories and templates. I did a few around that time, and haven't touched the matter since; I'd need to go in and relearn everything if I wanted to do it now. (For one thing, I had to look at things for some time just now, to figure out that you're proposing to change the stub template, NOT the stub category; I'd forgotten that they're two different things.)
I actually don't figure on chiming in on the matter--whatever is correct or preferred is fine with me. But I wonder if I might presume to learn from your expertise?
Assuming that your proposed change for the stub TEMPLATE is made, do you plan on then proposing to change the name of the stub CATEGORY?
When I created the stub category, I used the parenthetical disambiguation term to match the non-stub category. Of course, I'd created that non-stub category a couple of months earlier, and I used the disamb. term to match the title of the article about the genus. (And that's there because the moth genus shares its name with a mythological insect.)
I have--unknowingly, early on, and then carelessly--created categories that SHOULD have had parenthetical disambiguations (in fact, I just did it again, and "mea culpa'd" about it on the project talk page). But now I'm wondering, do stub categories properly use those? I've been shooting in the dark just now, looking for a genus category that has a parenthetical disambiguation, and is large enough to have its own stub category. I'm sure there must be plenty, but I'm not finding any just now. Uporządnicki (talk) 19:24, 24 December 2023 (UTC)
- Hello again! Thanks for your note. The category is fine - I know we've used parens in stub category names before, but like you I can't seem to find one at the moment. I also don't know if there's a technical reason (i.e. server load, coding) to not use punctuation besides "-" in the template format; I just know it's part of the guidelines. I think I'll go looking for more information on that - but at any rate Category:Pyrausta (moth) stubs is "properly" formatted and I won't be proposing it for renaming. Happy holidays - Her Pegship (?) 20:34, 24 December 2023 (UTC)

That stub category--the specifics
[edit]I undertook a new "mini-megaproject" a while ago. There were well over 300 articles in the broad category for Beetle stubs. They're almost all individual species of beetles (and a fair number of higher taxonomic ranks), and virtually all of them should go into the labyrinth of sub stub categories. It looks like when I'm through, there will be five items in the top category--and one of those is the stub template (and another, I'm still thinking about moving.
And of course, I've been populating stub subcategories in the process.
There's a Template:Leiodidae-stub. It upmerges stubs to Category:Staphylinoidea stubs. But the Leiodidae stub template has over 120 links to itself. Not all are stub articles, but most of them are. And I expect there will be more when I finish going through the Beetle stubs. (I've done through the letter "O".)
So, yes, it will need the stub template for Leiodidae edited; I can see how that's done by comparing with others. And it will need a whole new category page for those stubs, since right now, they go onto the category page for Staphylinoidea stubs. I've created dozens of category pages, but only one or two for stub categories--and most recently, several years ago. I know they're different, but again, I can refer to existing ones. - Looks like you're doing it right. Thanks for checking! Her Pegship (?) 21:08, 16 January 2024 (UTC)
- Hi, again! Actually, my original post here was meant as a kind of more detailed addendum to my question on that stubs talk page. Yeah, I'm pretty sure I've nailed the mechanics of what I propose to do. But I'm still wondering if I'm supposed to propose it first on the stubs proposal page; and if so, how do I do it as a speedy proposal (which it apparently qualifies to be)?
- I see what you mean! Listing something on the proposals page as "speedy" is generally a courtesy to let other stub sorters know that you're going to create something. Creating a category for an upmerged template which has reached 60+ articles is typical of "speedy" proposals. You don't usually have to wait the whole 7 days - it's just a "heads up". Troublesome editor
[edit]Hello - I noticed you're an admin.
Sorry to bother you but I was wondering if you could help me with a troublesome editor that has hijacked killone abbey page. The entire dialogue is on the Talk page.
My WP:COI is that I am a local that has known these lands my entire life and I have ancestors buried in the ancient burial grounds and as do many locals.
The contentious sentence added to the page states there is a public right of way. The sentence needs to be removed as there has never been a public right of way through Newhall Estate.
I have provided this user ample evidence on the Talk page which he refuses to accept.
The reference link he's using mentions a (private) right of way - not a public right of way. He has provided no evidence for a public right of way and refuses my evidence.
This user sadly has a biased agenda.
I gave tried everything to reason with him and reach consensus.
If you could please advise on next steps I would be most grateful as I haven't report anyone before. Kellycrak88 (talk) 21:59, 3 May 2024 (UTC)

The article Destination Moon (short story) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
WP:V WP:GNG
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Destination Moon (short story) moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, Destination Moon (short story), is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.
