Please reinstall the article as I do not agree with speedy deletion. This person has sacrificed his life in his fight against Nazi terrorism. I do not think it is appropriate to delete his biography. Regards --Meister und Margarita (talk) 21:59, 13 October 2015 (UTC)

I'll userfy it for you if you want, but I don't advise putting it into article space as it stands. Not every one of the victims of the concentration camps is notable enough for an article. Notability here rests largely on coverage. Yes, I know that that in the pre-internet days coverage is less easy to find, but as the article reads. he was a very small cog in a big machine. I think you need to show that he was more important than that, and with some note outside the Gestapo records. Probably everyone who went into the camps had a record, and his just says (as you do in the article) that he distributed leaflets to his cell. Has anyone written about him anywhere else that will show he was noted outside his small group? Peridon (talk) 09:19, 14 October 2015 (UTC)

I hereby formally lodge my protest at the speedy deletion of Online Trust Alliance from Wikipedia. The first sentence was just to start the post, and I didn't believe that it would be so rapidly excised from Wikipedia. The Online Trust Alliance has over 100 members https://otalliance.org/about-us/members and is cited by Wikipedia no less than 7 times - see e.g., MeWe, Data Privacy Day, Ari Schwartz, Message Systems, Malvertising, High-Tech Bridge, and Distil Networks. We'll add to the article and make it more robust if you'll just let us, including the addition of plenty of resource references that establish the importance and significance of the Online Trust Alliance to the online internet community, which is Wikipedia's user community. Ben DigiCert (talk) 13:45, 14 October 2015 (UTC)

If you create it in your user space, you'll have fewer worries. We expect articles posted in main space to be able to stand on their own feet. I suggest creating it at User:Ben DigiCert/DRAFT (click and save), and also reading WP:CORP and/or WP:GROUP as appropriate. In either case, read WP:RS as well, about the reliable independent sources you need. When you think you're getting there, ask for opinions. Most of the admins and regular editors (and patrollers) will give opinions. When it's ready, it can be moved into article space. Please note that being cited by Wikipedia does not carry the certainty of getting an article. As a final point, I would advise reading WP:COI if you are connected to the trust, and also hope that 'we' aren't using the one account. Wikipedia accounts are for individuals only, and passwords must not be shared.

OK - Thanks Ben DigiCert (talk) 14:27, 14 October 2015 (UTC)

Please note I opened this earlier today: Wikipedia:Sockpuppet_investigations/Olawaleseriki52. The similarity in the format of their user pages is interesting. I think I've seen other similar ones in the past few days, but I can't remember where. --| Uncle Milty | talk | 15:22, 14 October 2015 (UTC)

Interesting. I hadn't seen the others. Possibly someone setting up as an SEO and promo agent without knowing how to do it properly. The Ford Lincoln one suggests paid editing - hell, it screams paid editing, and I hope they get their money back. I've got Ola in my contribs list, so if I see any more, I'll know where to go with them. Thanks. Peridon (talk) 19:13, 14 October 2015 (UTC)

you bastard

Brazilian123123123 (talk) 19:58, 15 October 2015 (UTC)

I've got a certificate that says I'm not, but it's probably not a reliable independent source WP:RS. Peridon (talk) 20:00, 15 October 2015 (UTC)
You're not a bastard. See, now you've got two sources! (No idea anymore why you are on my watchlist) Joshua Jonathan -Let's talk! 20:03, 15 October 2015 (UTC)
I'm not sure either, but you're in quite a big club. There's a lot of people watching this page. No, I'm not really paranoid. They are watching me... Peridon (talk) 20:07, 15 October 2015 (UTC)
always. samtar (msg) 20:09, 15 October 2015 (UTC)
Does anybody actually read that message at top of ypur page? Or is it intended to confuse the confused? Joshua Jonathan -Let's talk! 20:10, 15 October 2015 (UTC)
It's a sort of textual Magritte, I think. You've read it - that makes two of us at least. There's also an element of 'if they're confused, they'll read it again', and "MILK Warning: this contains milk". Peridon (talk) 20:18, 15 October 2015 (UTC)
Ta for the pint. Bottoms up! Peridon (talk) 20:34, 15 October 2015 (UTC)

Thank you for the explanation as to why my article was not accepted. I appreciate the information and advice. Best Regards, Brian. — Preceding unsigned comment added by BDPetersonAuthor (talkcontribs) 02:18, 19 October 2015 (UTC)

User:FusionWiki

I noticed your comment re the unblock request for User:FusionWiki. This was User:Fusion Energy (I think) but made the name change to continue editing. The reason "Change of username, no longer associated with an organisation" seems very strange. Do you get sacked summarily for failing to get your company on Wikipedia ? Curious. However, I am not sure how he/she/they will feel about being asked to change names again. Regards  Velella  Velella Talk   15:38, 20 October 2015 (UTC)

That name change was made without the user being unblocked, or any actual request having been made. This is ridiculous. I'm going to get clarification at AN. Peridon (talk) 15:43, 20 October 2015 (UTC)
It's at 'Name change procedure query'. Peridon (talk) 16:01, 20 October 2015 (UTC)

On Deletion of Ministry of Youth and Sports (Malaysia) -Assignment page

Hello and good day; My name is Ahmad Aqrabin Shah and im actually here to thank you. Honestly, i would like to be frank, i know full well the rules and regulation of creating an article on Wikipedia (hence why ive never written one or edited one as im not wholly confident of my article writing skills; as well as finding a source one would consider valid!) and the only reason why i did so (article being Ministry of Youth and Sports (Malaysia) -Assignment) was because my stubborn lecturer did not believe me when i told her of the simple rule of posting things on Wikipedia. I did not intend to strike a nerve or make your job harder than it already is! So i do sincerely apologise for both my lecturer's ignorance (and stubbornness) as well as my error of not deleting the article page as soon as i was done (i did take a screenshot of it; so no harm done!). Another thing i would like to ask of you, is that i would like to use the message you sent to me (on the reason why my article was deleted) as proof to my ill-mannered lecturer (she did drop a couple of rude words to me when i confronted her about this assignment) that this 'simple' (as she called it) assignment is not a thing you should be asking of university students, as Wikipedia is absolutely not a place for suggestions and opinions. It's a site for facts. I would also like to apologise once more if i had troubled you in any way. Aqrabin shah (talk) 10:29, 21 October 2015 (UTC)Ahmad Aqrabin Shah

Please feel free to use my message - it IS free for re-use anywhere by anyone anyway, under Wikipedia's CC-BY-SA 3.0 and GFDL licensing - as is virtually everything here. If you want your work restored into user space to show her, just ask (but I'm away for a few days after today so I won't be able to respond very quickly. Any other active admin will do it if I'm not answering - just refer them to here. Please point out to your lecturer that we do have an educational setup somewhere. I can never remember where, but User:Anna Frodesiak (also an admin) or User:Pgallert should be able to help on that. They've both worked with educational projects. It gives information to the lecturers on what can and can't be done, and how to handle things. Trouble is, many of the lecturers think they know more than they actually do - and sometimes students don't understand either, of course... Peridon (talk) 10:40, 21 October 2015 (UTC)
One page where instructors can announce their assignment projects for the English Wikipedia is Wikipedia:School and university projects. Then there is outreach.wikimedia.org, a wiki on its own which is in a large part dedicated to assist such projects, in any language, anywhere within the Wikimedia group of projects. @Aqrabin shah: I am also happy to help your professor personally. Cheers, Pgallert (talk) 13:28, 21 October 2015 (UTC)
Thank you for such swift responses! I will convey to her these information and (hopefully) she will understand. As for my article; no, i do not need it to be restored. Thank you for your kind offer and thank you for your time! Aqrabin shah (talk) 13:37, 21 October 2015 (UTC)Ahmad Aqrabin Shah
