Advice on your draft

[edit]

Hi - a few points to think about.

  • It's not clear to me whether the subject of the article is a particular school, or a type of schooling. I think it's a particular school, but the first sentence says it's a type of school - a bit confusing.
  • The sources don't appear to mention the subject of the article - this is a problem. We are pretty lax when it comes to notability in schools, per WP:SCHOOLOUTCOMES, but the need for verifiability still applies so we have to have some sort of sourcing to demonstrate that the school exists. (This might be covered in the LA Times article - I cant' read that since I'm in Europe, so this might be less of a concern).
  • You've got some external links, rather than citations, in the body of the text - these need to go. Wikilinks to other Wikipedia articles, but external links should onlt be found in a clearly labelled 'external links' section.
  • Do you have a connection to the school? You should probably read our WP:COI and WP:PAID guidelines if you are, and take the appropriate action.
:Question re: connection to the school. I am on staff (a teacher, not principal) at the school, but we have no official website. It is a public school and no one would benefit in any way financially from any Wikipedia article about it. Does that qualify as COI? I did read the link you sent me, but I'm still not sure. And thank you again!Peterb21 (talk) 15:18, 15 July 2019 (UTC) @user:Girth Summit[reply]

Hope that's helpful - you can submit the draft to AfC and other editors will either publish it, or give you more feedback. Cheers GirthSummit (blether) 09:04, 15 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, forgot - the picture shows a butterfly, rather than a school! I assume you just inserted that as a test image, until you can get a picture for the school itself - I'd suggest replacing that before submitting it (or simply removing it altogether if you don't have access to a copyright-free picture of the school) - it is preferred, but not necessary for an article to have an image. Your recent article submission has been rejected. If you have further questions, you can ask at the Articles for creation help desk or use Wikipedia's real-time chat help. The reason left by Dan arndt was: undefined

:[[user:Dan arndt] I am literally brand new to Wikipedia, I thought my article was neutral and well-referenced. All I see is rejected for undefined reason. Sorta hard to learn from that criticism. Could you elaborate just a tiny bit? Also, I thought articles were returned with suggestions before outright rejection- there was no copyright infringement.
: @User:Dan arndt, I didn’t see your comments elsewhere until just now. I see that you gave reasoning. Still confused, but like I said I’m new...
