April 2008

[edit]

You should wait for others to write an article about subjects in which you are personally involved, as you did at Peter Mourfield. This applies to articles about you, your achievements, your band, your business, your publications, your website, your relatives, and any other possible conflict of interest.

Creating an article about yourself is strongly discouraged. If you create such an article, it might be listed on articles for deletion. Deletion is not certain, but many feel strongly that you should not start articles about yourself. This is because independent creation encourages independent validation of both significance and verifiability. All edits to articles must conform to Wikipedia:No original research, Wikipedia:Neutral point of view, and Wikipedia:Verifiability.

If you are not "notable" under Wikipedia guidelines, creating an article about yourself may violate the policy that Wikipedia is not a personal webspace provider and would thus qualify for speedy deletion. If your achievements, etc., are verifiable and genuinely notable, and thus suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later. (See Wikipedia:Wikipedians with articles.) Thank you. Toddst1 (talk) 20:20, 1 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Peter Mourfield

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Peter Mourfield requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Gromlakh (talk) 20:20, 1 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The article Trail To Eagle has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable product without sufficient coverage in third-party sources.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Speedy deletion nomination of Peter Mourfield

[edit]

Hello Pmourfield,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Peter Mourfield for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.

Notability of new articles and Conflict of Interest

[edit]

I've noticed that you've tried creating an article about yourself... again. You last did it 10 years ago and it was deleted for not meeting our requirements of notability. The same thing happened a few days ago after you recreated it. You were also warned about a Conflict of Interest since you not only say that you work for TaxSlayer, but you're trying to create articles about yourself. Please read the messages left for you above regarding these two issues otherwise you're only going to waste your time on here. Having said that, you're more than welcome to edit (or create) other articles that may peak your interest. Thanks! Jauerbackdude?/dude. 14:44, 6 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
