Vanuatu[edit]

Doe you have a source for Romanian visa-free travel to Vanuatu ? The IATA satabase says "visa required".

And http://www.vanuatutourism.com/vanuatu/cms/en/resources/travel_info.html lists only "All commonwealth countries, Belgium, Denmark, Eire, Fiji, France and its dominions, Germany, Holland, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Philippines, Taiwan, South Korea, Sweden, Switzerland, U.S.A" as visa free.

Passportguy (talk) 15:12, 27 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Belize[edit]

A source for the Belize addition is also required. Both IATA and http://www.mfa.gov.bz/belize/no_visa.php list Romania as requiring a visa. Passportguy (talk) 15:17, 27 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I emailed the Belize Tourism Board and the said that all EU Members are do not need a Visa. I also asked whether it includes all 27 and he said yes.

St. Lucia visa on arrival[edit]

I noticed that you removed St. Lucia from the Moldovan passport page (listed as 6 week visa on arrival). The IATA database ([1] still lists this as being possible). However I'm a bit unsure if they are still current, as the official webiste of the St. Lucian government lists several countries that used to require a visa as now visa free (e.g. Romania : [2] vs [3]. Do you have information on whether COA have been abolished althogether in St. Lucia or are they still issued to some nationals ? Passportguy (talk) 10:13, 3 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Russians to Singapore[edit]

I restored the section about Russians needing a visa for Singapore (except for transit) as that it what both the IATA database and http://app.ica.gov.sg/travellers/entry/visa_requirements.asp say. Or do you have any other information ? Passportguy (talk) 10:28, 3 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I removed Russia off the list because someone said Visa Free including transit for 96 hours and there that was not true. Russians need a Visa or CIS Countries need a visaPryde 01 (talk) 11:02, 3 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If you read the above source carefully, you will see that

Nationals of the Commonwealth Independent States may be granted entry into Singapore without visas if they are on transit to a third country. However, they are required to fulfil the following conditions:-

"They are in transit to a third country; They hold a valid passport, a confirmed onward air-ticket, entry facilities (including visa) to the third country and have sufficient funds for the period of stay in Singapore; They continue their journey to the third country within the 96-hour visa free period granted; and They satisfy Singapore's entry requirements. As in all arrivals, the grant of the social visit passes to travellers will be determined by the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority officers at the Singapore Checkpoints."

Argentina[edit]

I checked the site of the foreign ministry of Argentina at http://www.mrecic.gov.ar/ as well as the site of the embassy in New Zealand at http://www.arg.org.nz/consular/visas.htm, and both say a visa is required for Romanians (also pertains to Bulgaria, and the Baltic States). IATA, as often, says no visa needed. Do you know of any official source confirming that the visa status of Romanians has changed recently ? Passportguy (talk) 19:01, 3 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have had a reply from the European Commission saying that Romania has full reciprocity to Argentina. Argentina is included in Annex 2 of the EU Visa Reciprocal Scheme. Visa Free for Romania was attained when Romania joined the European Union. Romania is part of the Visa Reciprocal Scheme. On Wikipedia it states that Romania has Visa Free to Argentina as part of the Visa Reciprocal Scheme. Here's the link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/European_passport#Visa-free_travelPryde 01 (talk) 21:05, 3 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Here's the link saying that Romania has Visa Free Access since Romania is an EU Country http://www.argentine-embassy-uk.org/version%20ingles/information/visaslistapaises.htmlPryde 01 (talk) 21:15, 3 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Brazil[edit]

Same problem as above with Argentina, I have found two sites http://www.brasilemb.org/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=181&Itemid=1 and http://www.brazilsf.org/visa_by_country.htm, both dated late 2007, and both have Bulgaria on their visa-free list but not Romania for some reason. In addition to Romania, both lists are also missing the Baltic states as well as Cyprus & Malta. And since the latter all require visas according to IATA, I'm not sure about Romania. Passportguy (talk) 07:01, 4 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have recieved a reply from the Brazilian Consulate and Romania does not need Visa to enter Brazil for up to 90 days. Heres another link I got: http://www.worldtravelguide.net/country/39/passport_visa/South-America/Brazil.htmlPryde 01 (talk) 07:47, 4 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Also According to the Wikipedia site all EU Nationals do not need Visas to enter Brazil http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/European_passport#Visa-free_travelPryde 01 (talk) 07:47, 4 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This tells you that Romanians as well as Malta do not need Visas to Brazil.http://www.brazil.ie/brazil.htm. I'm not sure about Cyprus I guess they need Visas? You need to click on the Consular Information and open up Tourist Visas which will download in Word Format.Pryde 01 (talk) 07:45, 4 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Timatic Web is usually accurate. It gets information 24/7 in real timePryde 01 (talk) 07:48, 4 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your reply.

A few notes : 1) Wikipedia cannot really be used as a source, as information listed here uis (unfortuantely) often incorecct. 2) The Worldtravelguide link you provided, is probably out of date (if regulations have changed), as it states "Visas required by all nationals referred to in the chart above [where it lists "EU"]except the following: (a) 1. nationals of EU countries (except nationals of Cyprus, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Malta who do require a visa". The text is very likely pre-2007 and thus doesn't include RO/BG in the "EU" bit. 3) http://www.brazil.ie/brazil.htm and its subpage [4] again list only

Andorra, Argentina, Austria, Bahamas, Barbados, Belgium, Bolivia, Bulgaria, Chile, Colombia,
Croatia, Costa Rica, Czech Republic, Denmark, Ecuador, Finland, France, Germany, Greece,
Guatemala, Guyana, Honduras, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Liechtenstein,
Luxembourg, Macau, Malaysia, Monaco, Morocco, Namibia, The Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway,
Panama, Paraguay, Peru, The Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Romania, San Marino, Slovakia,
Slovenia, South Africa, South Korea, Sovereign Order of Malta, Spain, Suriname, Sweden,
Switzerland, Thailand, Trinidad & Tobago, Tunisia, Turkey, United Kingdom, Uruguay,
The Vatican and Venezuela.

Same list as on the other websites have, with EE/LV/LT, Romania and Cyprus & Malta missing. (Note that the "Sovereign Order of Malta" is not the same as the country of Malta.)

Unfortnately timatic is often out of date and incorrect as well, so we still need a proper source for the supposed 5 new visa free countries. Surely if this is a new regulaion, some embassy website must have them listed ?? Passportguy (talk) 11:48, 4 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have received a reply from the Brazilian Embassy and they said that ALL EU Member States except 5 Member States EE/LV/LT Cyprus and Malta which have not yet got full visa free reciprocity. But Romania and the other EU Member States get Visa Free for up to 90 days. I have confirmed this by calling and emailing the Embassy. They also said the website is out of date works on the website will be done soon. I have verified this many times

This website strictly and obviously says Romania is included http://www.consbraslondres.com/index.php?pagina=12&pgVoltar=7&pgReferencia=servico&id=36

I also got a reply from the European Commission EE/LV/LT Malta and Cyprus do not have it but the EC is working on achieving full reciprocity.Pryde 01 (talk) 12:33, 4 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Romanians to Georgia[edit]

Hello,

Do you know if the Georgians have extended their visa-free privledges to Romania/Bulgaria ?. The Georgian Foreign ministry page says "All countries of the European Union", Timatic (still ?) lists Romanians as requiring a visa. Passportguy (talk) 16:05, 20 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I haven't heard back from either the Georgian or the Yemenese MFA. I'll try again later this week if I don't receive a reply by then. Passportguy (talk) 00:28, 9 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If you don't hear back from the Georgian Foreign Ministry or from the Yemen Foreign Ministry shall we leave it on there? Because its only Timatic saying that Timatic is often out of date as you have said, there is evidence showing that EU Members do not need a Visa to Georgia? What do you think of this?Pryde 01 (talk) 08:24, 11 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Previously Romanians undoubtedly needed a pre-issued visa for both Yemen & Georgia previously. Since the accesion to the EU regulations may have changed, but we need a source for that change having taken place. Without such a source we will have to remove Yemen & Georgia from the list(Georgia will still be VOA). Passportguy (talk) 13:45, 11 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

PRC Visa Free/VOA List[edit]

I have taken off Bahrain as part of the Visa Free/VOA because PRC Citizens are required to have a Visa before PRC Citizens can enter Bahrain.Pryde 01 (talk) 08:19, 11 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Just a quick note : You should better leave such comments on the talk page of the wikipage in question (i.e. in this case Talk:People's Republic of China passport and not on your own talk page where no-one will find it. Passportguy (talk) 13:48, 11 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Iran Visa Free/VOA List[edit]

I took off the US and Canadian Permanent Residency Visa Free list for Iranians, because that is unnecessary it doesn't focus on what Iranians are entitled to or not entitled to in regards of Visa Free/VOA its going off track.Pryde 01 (talk) 08:19, 11 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Who cares? I just put it there because probably most of the Iranians reading English wiki are North American residents and might wanna know about this. If you say it should be removed, so be it. Majalinno (talk) —Preceding comment was added at 00:25, 24 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
:I know you might get bored but read the pages carefully and thoroughly to find information for permanent residents of Canada or the US entry requirements. Majalinno (talk) —Preceding comment was added at 00:36, 24 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
When I said you'll get bored, I meant when you read the source pages on entry requirement. It was my response to your quote, "I don't know where you got this permanent residence information from I couldn't see it on any of the sources" Majalinno (talk)

Yemen / Georgia[edit]

I still haven't heard back from the Yemense, but Timatic has now changed their database to include Romanians, so I guess the visa-on-arrival facility is now available to all EU-27. Passportguy (talk) 23:58, 12 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'll change the map. I think I'll also change Georgia from visa-free to visa-on arrival, due to the information found http://www.geoemb.org.uk/visa.htm, which indicated that only diplomatic passports from Romania qualify for visa-free travel. Passportguy (talk) 00:08, 13 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ill change Georgia for youPryde 01 (talk) 00:24, 13 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yemenis to Syria[edit]

Any reason you deletded Syria from the visa-not-required list on Yemeni passport ? Timatic states : "passport required. Visa not required.". [5] Passportguy (talk) 15:39, 13 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It says that "Entry refused if holding passport issued by the Democratic Republic of Yemen". I guess that it means todays Yemen? Sorry if I got it wrongPryde 01 (talk) 22:21, 13 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The "Democratic Republic of Yemen was a shortlived breakaway republic in southern Yemen that doesn't exist anymore, i.e. its passports are not valid for travel. That doesn't have any influence on passports issued by the Republic of Yemen though. Passportguy (talk) 00:43, 14 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Data deletion request[edit]

Hello,

You might want to comment on Talk:Irish passport as there is an editor contending that all visa-free/VOA info must be deleted. If successful, essentially all informatuion from the passport pages would have to be deleted. Passportguy (talk) 15:04, 3 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

eVisitor[edit]

I understand your reasoning, too. That's why I asked Passportguy to decide what we should do in this situation. We should either uncolour Australia in all articles on eVistor-elligible passports or we should colour it in all of them. Let's wait for Passportguy's reply. --Botev (talk) 13:45, 7 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Turkish entry regulations[edit]

Hello,

Do you habe any idea what Turkish entry regulations are based on ?
Of the 15 old EU member states, 8 require visas and 7 do not. There doesn't ssem to be much sense in who does and does not. Of the 10 new EU-25 members, all require visas, except the Czech Republic for some reason. Of the two 2007 additions, I guess the reason Bulgarians don't need a visa is because they are neighbours, but the rest of this doesn't make any sense. E.g. : Why do Belgians need a visa but Luxembourgians do not ?? Passportguy (talk) 19:41, 14 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I dont know why. Maybe this may be the reasons why? [6]. Since the EU has a very strict Visa Regime Turkey will "retaliate" but not infringe on EU Law of Visas, Immigration, Justice, Freedom and Security. Turkey is basically refusing equal treatment for EU Citizens because the EU is very strict on its own Western Visa Regime. But this is more than likely going to change as Turkey moves closer to the EU and develops a better relationship. The day the EU allows Turkish Citizens to travel into the EU without Visas the day where all EU Citizens will have the same treatment access to Turkey rather than this discriminative regime that Turkey has put in place for Westerners (EU Citizens). Most of the EU15 have cold and not very good relations with Turkey and therefore Turkey retaliates in its own special way.

Regarding Bulgarian EU Passports Bulgarians are discriminated as Europeans as well because if you look on the Turkish Foreign Ministry Website Bulgarians need Visas for a few entry points and no Visas for some [7].Pryde 01 (talk) 03:17, 16 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Burkina Faso[edit]

According to timatic [8] Burkina Faso issues visas on arrival on on exceptional circumstances. I'm therefore a bit uncertain, if it should actually be listed as regular BOA on the list. Passportguy (talk) 09:22, 18 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

India[edit]

Could you explain what's going on with this edit? It's not really acceptable. Tra (Talk) 10:52, 11 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

VOA for Comores / Gambia[edit]

Hello,

I wanted to ask you opinion whether these countries sgould be listed as VOA for citizens that require visas. Both issue a temporary permit on arrival (Comoros : 24 h / Gambia : 3 days) which then must be converted into a real visa at an immigration department office in a city before departure is possible. Should this count as a visa-on-arrival ? Passportguy (talk) 15:12, 7 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The the reply on my talk page. Passportguy (talk) 10:55, 11 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Tajikistan[edit]

According to several travel advice sites by foreign offices, Tajkistan has apparently stopped issuing VOA without prior visa support letters. I currently cannot find any official confirmation of this, but possibly Tajikistan will have to be removed from the VOA list. Passportguy (talk) 15:15, 7 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Australia[edit]

I think we also need to decide how to consider Australia's new, free of charge eVisitor visa for Europeans. It is essentially eqivalent to the new US pre-travel internet registration Visa Waiver Program, yet we routinely list Australia as VOA or even visa-required, yet list the US as visa-free.
The even bigger problem is how to denote it on the maps. It isn't really a VOA (although currently shown as such), nor is it visa-free. Should we introduce an additional colour (light-green or light-blue maybe ?) Passportguy (talk) 10:59, 11 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Kyrgyzstan[edit]

Just anted to let you know that I'll remove Kyrgystan from the vise-free list fo RO/BG citizens, as due to a change in regulations (see [9]) Kyrgysztan is no longer visa-free, and Romanians & Bulgarians don't even seem to qualify for the visa.on-arrival that other Europeans qualify for. Passportguy (talk) 12:09, 11 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

French TOM[edit]

I checked a page on French immigration requirements, and it seems that EU/EFTA citizens have the right to unlimited stay in the overseas territories (i.e. Mayotte, French Polynesia, St. Pierre-Miquelon, New Caledonia & Wallis-Futuna) also - as opposed to just in the overseas departments which are part of the EU. See [10] (see 3.2 at the bottom). So I guess we'll have to change that on all the pages of EU passports. Passportguy (talk) 12:57, 18 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Visas for Russians[edit]

Russians require a visa but may apply for one at the border. Read the source given carefully and you will discover that all nationals that require a visa may apply at the border and that includes Russians. Btw : I recently travelled to Georgia and there were many Russians that go the visa at the airport - it seems fairly quick and painless although they had to pay a fee. Passportguy (talk) 11:36, 16 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

About the Communications[edit]

It wasn't me. The modification from the Romanian Passport article, from 6 September 2009, 12:36 GMT, it wasn't mine. I understood that Timatic is not really accurate, and i'm agree with you. I did not give you any response because i'm waiting for an upgrate from the website of the Romanian Foreign Affaires, Visas section. From there we can see if indeed, romanians do not need visas for panama. El Otro (talk) 12:21, 8 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hello again. About map, I will change it. About the Panama, my sources are Romanian Foreign affairs ministry, and Timatic[11]. But only Timatic "said" that romanians do not need visas. With Romania being in the European Union, the panamanian goverment is bound to lift the visas for romanians. —Preceding unsigned comment added by El Otro (talkcontribs) 08:10, 16 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Oooops, sorry. I will fix it. El Otro (talk) 11:40, 8 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

About Turkey, I don't know exactly. Some romanian news-paper announced that the visas will be lifted in the near future, citing the romanian ministry for foreign affaires, but didn't say a date when this thing will be. I have a romanian language source with this news [12]. The information did not apear on the Ministry web site or the Border Police site El Otro (talk) 11:43, 7 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop changing the nationality in the Sam Neill‎ article. XLerate (talk) 03:20, 3 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I am going to change Sam Neill's nationality. You fail to figure out that he was born in Northern Ireland and therefore the United Kingdom. Don't be stupid and reverse it back to his nationality which is British. It is obviously written on his passport as Northern Ireland/United Kingdom and therefore he is of British nationality. I do not need any proof whatsoever you can see his information on the side underneath his photo. I do not need to provide any evidence or backups to my claim. Wikipedia has the sources there already. Sam Neill is a British citizen that is all I need to say. I am not going to play stupid games about Sam Neill's nationality.Pryde 01 (talk) 03:40, 3 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I have reverted your unsourced change once more. The nationality isn't clear-cut because he was born to a New Zealand father, and moved back to NZ while young. I didn't see one single web search match for "British actor Sam Neill", it appears to be your own creation. I feel your actions are edit warring and a BLP violation for making unsourced contentious changes. If you continue, you risk being blocked. XLerate (talk) 04:14, 3 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
