Animal Crossing

Hi there,

I agree Animal Crossing: New Horizons is translated into American English so the page should reflect that. Did you mean to place the tag into the talk page though? I’m still new but just wanted to double-check.

Cheers,

AussieWikiDan (talk) 06:18, 24 August 2020 (UTC)

@AussieWikiDan: Yes, I specifically wanted that notice to be placed in the talk page. Qwertyxp2000 (talk | contribs) 09:29, 24 August 2020 (UTC)
The Pizza article's talk page does that too. Qwertyxp2000 (talk | contribs) 09:30, 24 August 2020 (UTC)

Cool. Just wanted to check. :) AussieWikiDan (talk) 11:57, 24 August 2020 (UTC)

Qwertyxp2000, nominators are not allowed to promote their own nominations to prep, so I have reverted your promotion of this nomination. Please don't do any more promotions until you are far more familiar with the DYK processes and guidelines. Thanks. BlueMoonset (talk) 00:40, 25 August 2020 (UTC)

Oh, okay. I didn't know about it. Thanks for letting me know. Qwertyxp2000 (talk | contribs) 00:42, 25 August 2020 (UTC)
BlueMoonset So, how long does it take for a DYK note to be added to the queue? I am new to this DYK stuff despite having been on Wikipedia for over 6 years. Qwertyxp2000 (talk | contribs) 00:43, 25 August 2020 (UTC)
Ah, I might've seen 5D Chess with Multiverse Time Travel page, and I noticed that the DYK for that page has to be promoted first before being able to freely add the article to the queue? Qwertyxp2000 (talk | contribs) 00:49, 25 August 2020 (UTC)
(edit conflict) Qwertyxp2000, the promoter does both steps: adds the hook to the prep (not the queue) and promotes/closes the nomination page, one right after the other. Later, an admin will do the next layer of promotion, taking an entire prep set and moving it to an empty queue. Eventually that queue will move to the top of the list, and a bot will promote it to the main page to run for 12 or 24 hours, depending on our then-current run rate.
Right now, there are 111 approved nominations, and each prep set has 8 slots. So about 10 sets from now, plus or minus a few, someone will come along and promote your nomination. We're currently running one set a day, but it's likely to go to two sets a day before the end of the month. So your nomination should hit the main page by mid-September, if not a little earlier. There are too many variables for anything like precision, I'm afraid. BlueMoonset (talk) 01:00, 25 August 2020 (UTC)
Ah, I understand the situation now. So as long as there is a confirmed symbol, then the DYK is ready to start the queueing process, and then it should be able to hit the main page by mid-September or so? Qwertyxp2000 (talk | contribs) 01:03, 25 August 2020 (UTC)
