[edit]Hello, I'm Aspects. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Spotlight (Jennifer Hudson song), but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Aspects (talk) 23:14, 5 March 2021 (UTC)
- Hello, RB&Soulfan, welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contributions. Your editing pattern indicates that you may be using multiple accounts or coordinating editing with people outside Wikipedia, such as Musicprofan (talk · contribs). Thanks, yeah Jennifer Hudson herself had stated that the single was originally debuted in 2007. I looked at the song’s edited history and it seems other users have tried editing it and adding the correct year while others keep adding the wrong date. However, the single was released sometime around 2007-2008 but was originally recorded in 2007. That’s even the year my niece was born in and I even remember hearing that song around January of 2008. There’s no way the song would be recorded in 2008 if I perfectly remember hearing the song sometime in January like around the beginning of the year 2008 because I remember the part that said “oh I don’t like (hehe) living under your spotlight”. I will try to search for more information before adding it back just to be sure. But thank you for the heads up. RB&Soulfan (talk) 02:29, 6 March 2021 (UTC)
- If you add material to Wikipedia and it gets reverted for being unsourced, you do not keep reverting back what you think is correct, you need to also provide a reference for the changes you are making. To do otherwise goes against WP:BRD and you are WP:Edit warring, which could lead you to being blocked. The reason you are seeing other users making the same edits that you are, is that it is very likely that you are the person using multiple accounts to make the edits. These three accounts are making the same edits on the same exact articles, so the editing patterns are too similar to be coincidental per WP:DUCK. Aspects (talk)
I’m sorry, I don’t know who the other users are, plus I have also contributed to other articles not just this specific one. I am only trying to help, but if you think it’s wrong, then you can remove my edits. I do not know what other accounts you are talking about but I can assure you that I am not using multiple accounts. I am only a 39 year old adult male who tries to contribute throughout Wikipedia. I pretty much agree with those other fellow users because I myself have heard that song multiple times before it’s claimed date and I can assure you that I am not trying to cause any trouble at wiki. Unfortunately, I have no evidence other than remembering the Jennifer Hudson page state that themself. However I doubt that that’s the real Jennifer Hudson because I don’t think she has a real page, that might be the case who knows. If you think I am wrong, then you can remove my edits. Also note that I am new to Wikipedia, it’s my first time joining. There’s no way I can be using those other accounts. Again I contribute to multiple articles not just this one. I don’t agree that the Kesha Tik Tok song was recorded in 2007, otherwise I would’ve heard it on the radio. That is why I changed the date to 2008 for that one, but if you think I’m wrong then delete it. RB&Soulfan (talk) 04:40, 6 March 2021 (UTC)
Hello, I'm SNUGGUMS. Your recent edit(s) appear to have added incorrect information, so they have been removed for now. If you believe the information was correct, please cite a reliable source or discuss your change on the article's talk page. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. The time a song gets released isn't the same thing as when it got recorded SNUGGUMS (talk / edits) 14:30, 6 March 2021 (UTC)
Yeah it was probably recorded in 2010. I know it’s not recorded when it’s released. RB&Soulfan (talk) 14:32, 6 March 2021 (UTC)

Edit warring on Spotlight (Jennifer Hudson song)
[edit]You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Spotlight (Jennifer Hudson song); that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.
Points to note:
- Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
- Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.
If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. Aspects (talk) 02:58, 7 March 2021 (UTC)
