A tag has been placed on Ramesh Shanmuganathan requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. December 2009[edit]

You should wait for others to write an article about subjects in which you are personally involved, as you did at Ramesh Shanmuganathan. This applies to articles about you, your achievements, your band, your business, your publications, your website, your relatives, and any other possible conflict of interest.

Creating an article about yourself is strongly discouraged. If you create such an article, it might be listed on articles for deletion. Deletion is not certain, but many feel strongly that you should not start articles about yourself. This is because independent creation encourages independent validation of both significance and verifiability. All edits to articles must conform to Wikipedia:No original research, Wikipedia:Neutral point of view, and Wikipedia:Verifiability.

If you are not "notable" under Wikipedia guidelines, creating an article about yourself may violate the policy that Wikipedia is not a personal webspace provider and would thus qualify for speedy deletion. If your achievements, etc., are verifiable and genuinely notable, and thus suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later. (See Wikipedia:Wikipedians with articles.) Thank you. Eeekster (talk) 01:19, 19 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from Ramesh Shanmuganathan, a page you have created yourself. If you do not believe the page should be deleted, you can place a {{hangon}} tag on the page, under the existing speedy deletion tag (please do not remove the speedy deletion tag), and make your case on the page's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. Glenfarclas (talk) 02:46, 19 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, welcome to wikipedia. I saw that the article Ramesh Shanmuganathan was deleted earlier. Well this is due to the reason that administrators of wiki don't like self publications. It is fine to publish items, with references from reliable third party sources. As such the said article as been recreated by me with the relevant references. Let me know if you need any further details about wiki. Cossde (talk) 18:39, 19 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not remove maintenance templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Ramesh Shanmuganathan, without resolving the problem that the template refers to, or giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your removal of this template does not appear constructive, and has been reverted. Thank you. Dan arndt (talk) 11:39, 1 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Writing about yourself on Wikipedia[edit]

Hello Ramesh.shanmuganathan. Just so you are aware, Wikipedia is not a place for you to write about yourself. While your userpage is a place for you to provide some basic details about yourself with the intentions of introducing yourself to other Wikipedia editors, it is not the website's primary goal. If you're new to Wikipedia, you can see our Introduction page, which will introduce you to what Wikipedia is really about, and you can learn how to edit in a fun, interactive way by playing The Wikipedia Adventure. If you are looking to create a new article, this page will be extremely helpful. And finally, if you have any questions, you may ask at the Teahouse, a friendly place for newcomers where experienced editors can answer your questions. Regards

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
