February 2023[edit]

Hello, I'm Cassiopeia. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Popular entertainment in Brisbane, but you didn't provide a source. I’ve removed it for now, but if you’d like to include a citation to a reliable source and re-add it, please do so! If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Cassiopeia talk 01:00, 9 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm Miner Editor. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to Else Shepherd have been undone because they did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the Teahouse or the Help desk. Thanks. ArbCom 2023 Elections voter message[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2023 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 11 December 2023. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2023 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:37, 28 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you[edit]

For your addition to articles about Queensland topics.

There is just a small problem about adding static partial references.

Verstraete, Jean-Christophe; Bassani, Florrie, (contributor.); Liddy, Joan, (contributor.); EBSCOhost (2020), A dictionary of Umpithamu : with notes on Middle Paman, Aboriginal Studies Press, ISBN 978-1-925302-22-6 {{citation}}: |author2= has generic name (help)CS1 maint: multiple names: authors list (link)

Utilising Trove locates the variety of extant items, allocates the relevant isbn and other attributes to the items, and is usually (but not always) more dynamic for the reader to pursue the item...

https://trove.nla.gov.au/work/239605173/version/267181318?keyword=Verstraete,%20J.-C.,%20Bassani,%20F.,%20%26%20Liddy%20Joan.%20%282020%29.%20%27%27A%20dictionary%20of%20Umpithamu

If you are not used to pursue Trove - it is well worth reverse engineer an item to see how things work, and it is there as a ready made wikipedia format citation!

Sometimes there are transposing issues things - but both wikipedia and trove have indicators of what needs to be fixed... It is well worth the effort.

Also if you are not up with talk page interactions to date, well worth asking help with that, as your contributions are excellent, and there things that might require some clarification... JarrahTree 03:47, 15 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Ratboi21! I might be able to explain what JarrahTree is asking you to do more precisely. For example, when you want to cite or add as further reading something in the SLQ catalogue like A dictionary of Umpithamu : with notes on Middle Paman, you would do better to use the Cite option in the SLQ catalogue entry, choosing the Wikipedia format, which will produce this:
Verstraete, J.-C., Bassani, F., Liddy Joan (2020). A dictionary of Umpithamu : with notes on Middle Paman / Jean-Christophe Verstraete ; main language consultants, Florrie Bassani and Joan Liddy. Aboriginal Studies Press. ISBN 9781925302219.
which produces a better result. Kerry (talk) 04:46, 15 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
