Speedy deletion nomination of Shaun Bartlett (artist)

[edit]

Hello Redmeansrun,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Shaun Bartlett (artist) for deletion, because it seems to be promotional, rather than an encyclopedia article.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. BeowulfBrower (talk) 02:06, 28 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

In reply to the message you left at the article's talk page: Wikipedia content should be a neutral summary of what reliable third-party sources have reported about a subject. The article contained many promotional adjectives such as "legendary", "eminent", "beautiful" and so on, and it contained claims of "critical acclaim" that largely were not backed up by reliable sources. In fact, most of the article's content was not backed up by reliable sources; many of the given sources did not mention Shaun Bartlett at all, or only in passing.
I'd suggest using the Article Wizard to write a draft that's based on independent reliable sources such as newspapers or reputable music magazines that cover Bartlett in some detail and to submit it for a reviiew by an experienced editor. Huon (talk) 20:50, 28 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
