Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from L-Innu Malti into Hymns by Dun Karm Psaila. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. The attribution has been provided for this situation, but if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, please provide attribution for that duplication. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. If you are the sole author of the prose that was moved, attribution is not required. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 17:06, 6 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The text of the Maltese national hymn was copied, it was written by poet Dun Karm Psaila and is in the public domain. It DOES NOT originate from to the person/s who wrote the Wikipedia article "L-Innu Malti". Rather, I have clarified the origin of the text by creating a page dedicated to the original author. I can add some sources, but this is a hymn written in the 1800s in a North African migration context, and the sources cited are the most reliable ones available. The "reliable sources" you are thinking of DO NOT EXIST. The most reliable sources are manuscripts or limited edition printed texts which are very hard to find, and would require costly travel and archival research which has not yet been done; this is a very specific topic and cannot be verified through internet searches. The articles cited are scientific texts and articles published in the most reputable Maltese newspaper in a series about historical figures. I can multiply secondary sources to make the text look more "citation-loaded" but they won't add any real support to the sources I have already provided.
