Podcast Notability[edit]

You don't seem to understand the threshold for inclusion in Wikipedia. Possibly ask about it at The Teahouse? Alternatively, go to Help:Your first article and try to create an article for Murder in the Rain. If you can establish notability sufficiently for that, there should be less of a problem adding it to sections of murder articles. You still need to address the pretty obvious conflict of interest. Strictly that mean requesting edits rather than doing them yourself (see the link for details) but it would definitely show good faith to put the work into a comprehensive section which included all the notable sources, including other podcasts (EDIT: you did this for a couple of other podcasts, but didn't establish notability* or address any of the other points in these comments). Also, popular culture would normally mean an artistic work, like fiction or music. Non-fiction works are just sources. In terms of mentioning non-fiction works that cover the subject of an article, Wikipedia:Further reading may prove instructive - as well as familiarising yourself with the general objectives of the encyclopedia. You might also ask for guidance at Wikipedia:WikiProject Crime and Criminal Biography. All the best. Amedee123 (talk) 09:03, 9 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

An example to consider: Diane Downs is covered in episode 12 of My Favorite Murder, a podcast with sufficient third party mentions to make it notable enough for its own article. However, that episode isn't mentioned in the article itself - most likely because the article is about Downs, not all the times her case has been covered in the media. Personally, I don't think listing lots of those would add to the article, but it may be possible to establish consensus on this by raising it on an article talk page or, better still (since there are multiple articles it could apply to), with the relevant WikiProject. I can't find a precise guideline that deals with what you're trying to do (more experience editors may be able to if you ask around), but these seem somewhat relevant: WP:MISC and WP:NOTCATALOG. I hope that makes things clearer. Amedee123 (talk) 09:18, 9 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
*edit again: neither Once Upon a Crime (podcast) nor Crime Salad have their own articles. Amedee123 (talk) 09:54, 9 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
