Please claim your upload(s): File:Yorkshire Regiment Tactical Recognition Flash.jpg[edit]

Hi, Thank you, for uploading this file.

However, as part of ongoing efforts to ensure all media on English Wikipedia is correctly licensed and attributed it would be appreciated if you were able to confirm some details,

If it's your own work, please include {{own}}, amend the {{information}} added by a third party, and change the license to an appropriate "self" variant. You can also add |claimed=yes to the {{media by uploader}} or {{presumed_self}} tag if it is present to indicate that you've acknowledged the image, and license shown (and updated the {{information}} where appropriate).

If it's not your own work please provide as much sourcing/authorship information as you are able to.

It would also be appreciated if you could "claim" or update the source and licensing on other media you uploaded, You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.

This will assist those reviewing the many many "free" images on commons that have not yet been transferred to Commons. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 17:55, 10 August 2016 (UTC)

Concerned over new Wikipedia editors[edit]

Hello, you left a comment on my page a while ago [1], in regards to the strange edits on Mughal-Sikh battles by some users. I have noticed a recent upsurge in similar such edits, with users with new accounts most notably user:Why do people not understand [2], who creates new articles that are entirely unsourced, such as Gurkha-Sikh War, Punjab War (the creator of this article was a confirmed sockpuppet), Mughal-Sikh Wars (no source, but I added some and he keeps on reverting it, which was initially created by a user with similar edits named User:Gurbar Akaal), and Anti-Sikh jihad which was deleted [3] after I requested a speedy delete for blatant hoax. Any valuable input would be appreciated. Xtremedood (talk) 07:20, 15 November 2016 (UTC)

ArbCom Elections 2016: Voting now open![edit]

Scale of justice 2.svg Hello, Richard Harvey. Voting in the 2016 Arbitration Committee elections is open from Monday, 00:00, 21 November through Sunday, 23:59, 4 December to all unblocked users who have registered an account before Wednesday, 00:00, 28 October 2016 and have made at least 150 mainspace edits before Sunday, 00:00, 1 November 2016.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2016 election, please review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 22:08, 21 November 2016 (UTC)

Duke of Wellington's Regiment[edit]

Hi - Please see my comments on Talk:Duke of Wellington's Regiment#Split? I think you have done a great job of improving the article but also believe there is a strong case for splitting it as the regiment arose from the amalgamation of two (separate) regiments in 1881. Thoughts welcome. Dormskirk (talk) 11:31, 1 January 2017 (UTC)
