Hi there, you have several times inserted a link to an American dog breeder into the 'Tamaskan" article, but this has been removed both times by different Wikipedia editors as it seems to be nothing more than an advertisement and not a genuine accredited register. The fact that your username is the same as the establishment you wish to include is evidence that you are affiliated with the 'organisation'.

Wikipedia is not the place to advertise your product, you already have a website for that. Please do not reisnsert the link without first discussing the matter on the talk page of the article. It has been twice removed already, a third time could lead to sanctions against you. Weakopedia (talk) 07:43, 26 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

December 2009[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to the encyclopedia, one or more of the external links you added such as to the page Tamaskan Dog do not comply with our guidelines for external links and have been removed. Wikipedia is not a collection of links; nor should it be used as a platform for advertising or promotion, and doing so is contrary to the goals of this project. Because Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Escape Orbit (Talk) 20:14, 26 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, Rightpuppykennel, may not meet Wikipedia's username policy because Your user name appears to be promoting the same organisation that you have been adding a link to.. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. As an alternative, you may file for a change of username, or you may simply create a new account and use that for editing. Thank you. Escape Orbit (Talk) 20:15, 26 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Tamaskan Dog. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you. Linking to the website[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your message, happy to explain. If you read the following policies and guidelines you'll see the problem.

  • Firstly, you appear to have a conflict of interest. It's not a good idea to be adding links to websites you are connected with. It would help if you state clearly on your user page what your relationship with it was. Just so things are above board.
  • Secondly, Wikipedia is not simply an internet directory. Links should be providing something factual that the article cannot, or link to notable organisations mentioned in the artice. They shouldn't be there simply to promote the linked website.
  • Thirdly, repeatedly re-adding the link when it has been removed is edit warring. This is likely to get you blocked if it continues. There is clearly some dispute over the website's status and authority, so the place to discuss things is on the article's talk page. Wikipedia works by consensus, so please try to attain that rather than just repeatedly adding and removing. That gets nowhere and doesn't help create a good article.

Thanks. --Escape Orbit (Talk) 00:44, 27 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Your account has been blocked from editing Wikipedia because it appears to be mainly intended or used for publicity and/or promotional purposes. Please read the following carefully.
Why can't I edit Wikipedia?

Your account's edits and/or username indicate that it is being used on behalf of a company, group, or organization for purposes of promotion and/or publicity. You have violated one or more of our rules, including rules against adding inappropriate external links, posting advertisements, using Wikipedia for promotion, and editing inappropriately with a conflict of interest. This kind of activity is considered spamming and is forbidden by Wikipedia's policies. Although Wikipedia has a great many articles on companies, groups, and organizations, it is considered inappropriate for such groups to use Wikipedia to write about themselves. In addition, usernames like yours are disallowed under our username policy.

Am I allowed to make these edits if I change my username?

Probably not. See Wikipedia:FAQ/Organization for a helpful list of frequently asked questions by people in your position. See Wikipedia:Conflict of interest for the kinds of limitations you would have to obey if you did want to continue editing about your company, group, or organization. If this does not fit in with your goals here, you will not be allowed to edit again. Consider using one of the many websites that allow this instead.

What can I do now?

You are still welcome to write about something other than your company or organization. If you do intend to make useful contributions on some other topic, you must convince a Wikipedia administrator that you mean it. To that end, please do the following:

  • Add the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} below this message box.
  • Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:Listusers to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy.
  • Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In this reason, you must:
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
