I have nominated Cevanne Horrocks-Hopayian, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Cevanne Horrocks-Hopayian. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. Pigman☿/talk 19:03, 12 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It would be better if you would put your opinions on the AfD page for the article rather than to me personally. My nomination of the article for deletion means I thought the Wikipedia community should comment on the article. I will address a few of your points here though.
Reliable and verifiable sources are important cornerstones of Wikipedia. I note that the majority of the sources in the Cevanne Horrocks-Hopayian do not meet these standards. For example, MySpace pages are not considered good sources for any information except perhaps as the artist's own official site. The current version of this article includes many external links which are not appropriate.
As to "indicators of emerging talent," Wikipedia generally wants more than indications. News stories, chart positions, articles in magazines, etc. are more substantial indicators. Please take a look at Wikipedia:Notability (people) and Wikipedia:Notability (music) for more details on Wikipedia's standards in these areas.
If you have any questions, you can respond here and I'll leave a reply here. Cheers, Pigman☿/talk 17:58, 16 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Pigman, Thanks for your feedback. I've had a go at rewriting this article. Happy New Year! RiverStreet (talk) 18:21, 3 January 2010 (UTC)RiverStreet[reply]

Hagop Hagopian

[edit]

I moved the article to Hagop Hagopian (guerilla). I created redirects for the other spellings to the disambiguation page, which is now the primary. Robert McClenon (talk) 22:23, 3 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

That was the only proper solution, whether or not it counts as "elegant". If the three people have the same name in Armenian, there should only be one disambiguation index, and all of the variant spellings should redirect to it. It wasn't obvious that one of the people is more notable than the other two. I wasn't sure what to call the original guy, so "guerilla" seemed as good a characterization as any other. Robert McClenon (talk) 20:21, 8 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I have been informed by Hagop Hagopian's estate that he is not usually known in the international community by the name Hakob Hakobian and they would like the entry corrected accordingly, if possible. Can someone guide me?

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Cevanne Horrocks-Hopayian, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page HRT. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Edward Foreman requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Edward Foreman, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Nathan, Pellegrini and Tosi (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver).
