Information icon Hello, I'm Peaceray. I noticed that you recently removed content from Anchors Aweigh (film) without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Why remove this source? According to books.google.com/books?id=1n5ZAAAAMAAJ&focus=searchwithinvolume&q=Anchors+Aweigh, there are 51 pages that mention or discuss the film. I'd like to echo that question. Why is a 1994 source "outdated" when discussing a 1940s film? I notice you've deleted the same source from a number of pages. Could you explain your reasoning more fully? Jean-de-Nivelle (talk) 21:04, 13 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hello Peaceray,
I am the author of the book (source) in question. When I wrote the George Sidney book in the early 1990s, I did not have access to the materials that are now housed at the Smithsonian under Mr. Sidney's name. There is information that will be more complete in an upcoming book I am preparing and would rather have mentioned as a source when published. Therefore, I deleted the Further Reading reference. If that is the case, please wait until the new source is published, then ask on the the talk page to have it updated. Please review the English Wikipedia conflict of interest behavioral guideline. Peaceray (talk) 05:07, 14 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
