I was neither spamming Wikipedia nor using it for promotion. The last article I edited was for a band that's been defunct for 20 years, what purpose would there be in promoting a long disbanded musical act? An editor placed a tag above the article asking for an establishment of notability, and I added links to external sources to further prove the notability of the band.
