If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Conor Matthew Mccreedy requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion," which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. A tag has been placed on Conor Matthew Mccreedy, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion," which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Hello Rusty69t. If you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article Conor Matthew Mccreedy, you may have a conflict of interest, or close connection to the subject.

All editors are required to comply with Wikipedia's neutral point of view content policy. People who are very close to a subject often have a distorted view of it, which may cause them to inadvertently edit in ways that make the article either too flattering or too disparaging. People with a close connection to a subject are not absolutely prohibited from editing about that subject, but they need to be especially careful about following the reliable sources and writing with as little bias as possible.

If you are very close to a subject, here are some ways you can reduce the risk of problems:

  1. Avoid or exercise great caution when editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with.
  2. Be cautious about deletion discussions. Everyone is welcome to provide information about independent sources in deletion discussions, but avoid advocating for deletion of articles about your competitors.
  3. Avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).
  4. Exercise great caution so that you do not accidentally breach Wikipedia's content policies.

Please familiarize yourself with relevant content policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. MikeWazowski (talk) 22:26, 18 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks so much for the help and advice.

After allot of effort I was able to get in contact with the person responsible for the content on the link https://www.facebook.com/ConorMccreedyArt?sk=info they have removed the content from their page and have given me full right on their content, and have send an email to permissions at Wikimedia so what would have to happen next in order for my article to be approved I am busy adding the secondary references as requested and would also just like find out in what way is the article written as an advertisement a gone through a lot of biographies on Wikipedia and cant see in any way that my article is any different from others I have seen.

I hope in the future that I would meet all the requirements and criteria upon my first post of a new article, without having to go through all this trouble again.

It seems like one editor "has it out for your article". He cannot stand it and has been taking every effort to hurt the article rather than improve it. Can I ask what your relationship to the subject of the article is? I would suggest that you take this to the dispute resolution noticeboard. on a side note, please remember to always sign your posts with four tilde's like this ~~~~ Ryan Vesey contribs 18:31, 19 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I have no relationship with the subject of the article I am merely a fan of his work and thought he would be the perfect subject for my first contribution on the Wikipedia website and I have gone through a lot of trouble to get all the copyright issues resolved regarding this article and its been a major learning curve and would be a great disappointment if this article is removed after all the trouble I have been through.hope I signed it correctly~~~~ User:Rusty69t User talk:Rusty69t

Hi Ryan Thanks for the advice and have launched dispute on the dispute resolution noticeboard.~~~~ User:Rusty69t User talk:Rusty69t

Dispute resolution noticeboard thread

[edit]

Hi Rusty69t, this is Mr. Stradivarius from the dispute resolution noticeboard. It looks like the experience of writing your first Wikipedia article has been quite stressful! I can sympathise completely with your situation, and I would like to help you sort things out here. There is some advice and a couple of questions for you at the dispute resolution noticeboard, if you want to drop by and comment. I can see that you weren't happy with the behaviour of the other editors involved in the article, but I'm sure that if we come together and talk about this, we can work things out to the satisfaction of everyone involved. All the best. — Mr. Stradivarius 13:55, 22 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Sockpuppet investigation

[edit]

Hi. An editor has opened an investigation into sockpuppetry by you. Sockpuppetry is the use of more than one Wikipedia account in a manner that contravenes community policy. The investigation is being held at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Rusty69t, where the editor who opened the investigation has presented their evidence. Please make sure you make yourself familiar with the guide to responding to investigations, and then feel free to offer your own evidence or to submit comments that you wish to be considered by the Wikipedia administrator who decides the result of the investigation. If you have been using multiple accounts (in a manner contrary to Wikipedia policy), please go to the investigation page and verify that now. Leniency is usually shown to those who promise not to do so again, or who did so unwittingly, but the abuse of multiple accounts is taken very seriously by the Wikipedia community.
