[edit]Goodtogoinsurance.com is a specialist travel insurance provider based in Harlow, Essex, providing travel insurance cover for UK residents who may have difficulty finding travel insurance from standard insurers, either due to medical conditions or age. Goodtogoinsurance.com sells direct to the public online and by phone, as well as providing a referral service for other insurers who are unable to provide cover for older age groups or those with serious pre-existing medical conditions. Goodtogoinsurance.com is an appointed representative of Ancile Insurance Group Ltd who are authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Authority – no. 471461
History:
[edit]Goodtogoinsurance.com was launched to address the lack of choice in the marketplace for older travellers and those with medical conditions, by providing travel insurance for travellers who have difficulty finding cover from standard insurers. [1]
This is important because of the growing number of retired people in the UK population, and the fact that many standard insurers won’t provide cover to travellers who are over 65 or who have pre-existing medical conditions. [2] [3] [4] [5]
A report published by Age UK in 2007 highlighted the need for travel insurance companies to address the needs of older travellers. [6] Goodtogoinsurance.com was launched to address these needs.
The Equality Bill 2010, requires that insurers do not discriminate against customers because of their age, however this has had little impact so far. Companies such as Goodtogoinsurance.com are important because they can offer insurance cover to customers who may otherwise have to stay at home or travel uninsured.
As well as selling direct to the public, Goodtogoinsurance.com allows other insurance providers to meet their obligations under the Equality Bill 2010 by providing them with products and services for older travellers and those with medical conditions.
