Unspecified source for Image:Henrywisehighschool.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Henrywisehighschool.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 18:23, 3 July 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Qst 18:23, 3 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not post copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder, as you did to HipHopLinguistics.com. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously, and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. Please stop removing speedy deletion notices from articles that you have created yourself, as you did with HipHopLinguistics.com. If you continue, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Wildthing61476 18:50, 16 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This is your last warning. The next time you remove a speedy deletion notice from an article you created, as you did with HipHopLinguistics.com, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Please stop removing the tag from this page. The article as it stands right now, is nothing more than a copy and paste from the website, which is a violation of Wikipedia's rules against copyright violations. Wildthing61476 18:58, 16 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Recreating it with a different name will achieve nothing. If you do not address the copyright issues and simply re add deleted material I will block you from editing. Theresa Knott | Taste the Korn 19:09, 16 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked

[edit]

You have been blocked from editing Wikipedia for a period of 24 hours as a result of your disruptive edits. You are free to make constructive edits after the block has expired, but please note that vandalism (including page blanking or addition of random text), spam, deliberate misinformation, privacy violations, personal attacks; and repeated, blatant violations of our polices concerning neutral point of view and biographies of living persons will not be tolerated.-Wafulz 19:10, 16 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Scholarman78, I have hidden your unblock request, as your 24 hour block should have just expired (or should expire within a few minutes, my clock is usually off one way or another). It is still on the page, if you click "edit this page" you can see it just above my comment.
As to how to add the info in question. When looking at another site, there are two things to see: (1) The facts that are presented, and (2) the way they are presented. Copying and pasting the content verbatim is often copyright infingement. Presenting some of the same facts in a different manner usually is not. That said, the website in question does not seem to be notable enough for an entry on wikipedia, and would probably be deleted even if it was not a copyright violation.
Rather than starting with creating your own articles, you may want to join Wikiproject Hip-Hop and see what ways you can help out there. Pastordavid 19:22, 17 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
