Welcome!

Hello, Screensaver, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Again, welcome!

You've been here since August and nobody has given you the official welcome? It's really quite shocking. Zambia editors appear to be underrepresented even on WP:AFR, so you are doubly welcome. - BanyanTree 14:18, 19 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi again. Can I ask you to write more edit summaries? It helps other users get a sense of what is going on with their watchlist without clicking on every diff. I sometimes forget and have set my editing preferences to prompt me when I have a blank summary. Thanks, BanyanTree 16:32, 9 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I do it most of the time, have that option switched on. Sorry if Ive missed it sometimes, Ill try to write something informative. I agree that they are very usefull. --Screensaver 16:56, 11 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Svoldr

[edit]

I'm sorry, I think I got somewhat over-defensive on the Svoldr article - I've invested a lot of time in it so your comment got me a bit off-balance. Your point that a greater number of recent secondary sources should be consulted is perfectly correct. Haukur 14:44, 13 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

No problem. I see your points, and they are good ones. If you give me some time (for the moment Ive got loads of studiework to do) I will try to write something about different wives of the battle and the sources. If its ok I would like to integrate it into the introduction (or whatever you call whats above the "Content" box) as well, so those who just read the short summarie get both views.
What I meant was not that we should remove the information about the number of ships completly for the article, but only from the battle template at the top. Maybe we could change it to something like "Unknown, maybe/propably/according to some sources/something else 11"?
As I said earlier, the article has really good information when it comes to describing the legend. If we balance it a bit Im sure it could be a good featured article candidate?

WikiProject Sw

[edit]

Hi. Did you notice my reply at the talk page of WikiProject Sweden?

Also, feel free to sign up. It doesn't bind you to anything, it shows there is some interest at the project, and maybe at some time you'll receive interesting updates.

Fred-Chess 17:47, 15 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, I most have missed it when I checked my watchlist. Sorry. Thanks for the litterature tips, anyway. Ive added my name to the list as well. Of course I must be a member of the Sweden project!

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Zambia Ind000.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Zambia Ind000.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 05:41, 21 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! I am currently working on the "Swedish Project" and "Award and Prizes"'s article Nobel Prize. Since it is a top importance article and not even GA class I am trying to make it a GA article and perhaps further after that. However, I'm in a state now where I could use some help. I need a new pair (several pairs in fact) of eyes to look at the article and the talk page for improving prose, debation of different things and some sourcing. Do you got any possibility to help out? Research survey invitation

[edit]

Greetings Screensaver-

My name is Randall Livingstone, and I am a doctoral student at the University of Oregon, studying digital media and online community. I am posting to invite you to participate in my research study exploring the work of Wikipedia editors who are members of WikiProject: Countering Systemic Bias. The online survey should take 20 to 25 minutes to complete and can be found here:

https://oregon.qualtrics.com/SE/?SID=SV_cSHzuwaQovaZ6ss

Your responses will help online communication researchers like me to better understand the collaborations, challenges, and purposeful work of Wikipedia editors like you. In addition, at the end of the survey you will have the opportunity to express your interest in a follow-up online interview with the researcher.

This research project has been reviewed and approved by the Wikimedia Research Committee as well as the Office for Protection of Human Subjects at the University of Oregon. For a detailed description of the project, please visit its Meta page. This survey is voluntary, and your confidentiality will be protected. You will have the choice of using your Wikipedia User Name during the research or creating a unique pseudonym. You may skip any question you choose, and you may withdraw at any time. By completing the survey, you are providing consent to participate in the research.

If you have any questions about the study, please contact me via my Talk Page (UOJComm) or via email. My faculty advisor is Dr. Ryan Light. If you have any questions regarding your rights as a research participant, please contact the Office for Protection of Human Subjects at the University of Oregon.

Thank you very much.

Sincerely,

Randall Livingstone School of Journalism & Communication University of Oregon UOJComm (talk) 18:32, 22 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

File:ZambiaCopperbeltProvinceDetail.gif listed for deletion

[edit]

A file that you uploaded or altered, File:ZambiaCopperbeltProvinceDetail.gif, has been listed at Wikipedia:Files for deletion. Please see the discussion to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. Hi. I was wondering if you would be interested in contributing articles to Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic)? It needs contributors to increase diversity of content from different countries and bring about large scale improvements. The idea at some point will be to host a National Contest related to your country of interest. Thanks. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 13:15, 21 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Europe 10,000 Challenge invite

[edit]

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Europe/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like Germany, Italy, the Benelux countries, Iberian Peninsula, Romania, Slovenia etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. If you would like to see masses of articles being improved for Europe and your specialist country like Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon, sign up today and once the challenge starts a contest can be organized. This is a way we can target every country of Europe, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant and also sign under any country sub challenge on the page that you might contribute to! Thank you. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 21:09, 7 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
