Thank you.

The article The 99ers has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done because the article, which appeared to be about a real person, individual animal, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, did not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the notability of the subject may be deleted at any time. If you can indicate why the subject is really notable, you are free to re-create the article, making sure to cite any verifiable sources.

Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and for specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for musicians, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. NawlinWiki (talk) 21:31, 3 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on The 99ers requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion," which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Karl 334 TALK to ME 21:36, 3 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

June 2011[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to Wikipedia, at least one of your recent edits, such as the one you made to [[:The 99ers band]], did not appear to be constructive and has been reverted or removed. Please use the sandbox for any test edits you would like to make, and read the welcome page to learn more about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. Thank you. You have been recreating the same unremarkable and poorly written article repeatedly. Come on dude. You are welcome to make constructive, well cited articles, but this one doesn't make the cut at this time. If you keep doing this, you will be banned in a matter of hours. Shape up or ship out, buddy. SuperEditor (talk) 18:16, 14 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Apologies[edit]

Sorry for scaring the newcomer. You're right that notability has been adequately established, and I see no immediate reason to include this article as a candidate for deletion, let alone speedy deletion. However, the article still has multiple issues and I have taken the liberty of tagging the fuck out of it in hopes that some good Wikipedians who are knowledgeable in the subject will improve it. Don't sweat it, though. Read up on some Wikipedia documentation, including the Special Page on writing your first article. You show promise and I'm sure your encyclopedic writing will improve over time. I sincerely welcome you as a valued member of the encyclopedia

The article The 99ers (band) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable band, article has had issues with POV and references are sketchy.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
