Harry Potter
[edit]Hello and welcome to Wikipedia! Not to discourage you, but the actual title is "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows", not Hollows. If your subsequent edits could reflect that it would be fantastic. Thanks, Martin Hinks 18:26, 21 December 2006 (UTC)
I just realized that. yahoo.com is saying Hollows, I just didn't research it more. Sorry!Sewnmouthsecret 18:27, 21 December 2006 (UTC)
- Yeah, no problem, just wanted to get a message to you before any further changes were made. :) Exciting news though :> Martin Hinks 18:35, 21 December 2006 (UTC)
- The excitement got the best of me. ;)

[edit]Welcome
[edit]Welcome back to Wikipedia. To find out more about how to make useful contributions, take a look at the welcome page. To stay in Wikipedia, an article has to be about something notable, that is, of general interest. Click on Notability for an explanation of what that means, and opn Notability (organizations and companies) for more detail. Also, it must give independently verifiable sources. Articles that don't meet these requirements are likely to be deleted. Follow the links below to learn more:
- To find out more about creating articles, read the Introduction, the Tutorial, and the Guide to creating your first article.
- Do not write articles about yourself, your band, or your best friend - that's a conflict of interest.
- Wikipedia is not an advertising service. Before writing about your own business, read Business' FAQ.
- For experiments, please use the sandbox.

Notability of The Independent Newspaper Group
[edit]A tag has been placed on The Independent Newspaper Group requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.
If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.
For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. JohnCD (talk) 15:49, 1 February 2008 (UTC)
Another editor has added the "{{prod}}
" template to the article The Independent Newspaper Group, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}}
template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. BJBot (talk) 16:14, 1 February 2008 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Constitution of Ecuador
[edit]A tag has been placed on Constitution of Ecuador requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, "See also" section, book reference, category tag, template tag, interwiki link, rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. LAAFan 18:20, 14 August 2008 (UTC)
I've removed the speedy as I think it was added a bit quickly for such a valid encylopedic article. Can I ask that you add some information to it quite quickly so it becomes more of a viable stub and then I'm sure it will survive any deletion attempt. Dpmuk (talk) 18:35, 14 August 2008 (UTC)
- You bet. Sewnmouthsecret (talk) 18:37, 14 August 2008 (UTC)

[edit]My reason for putting a CSD tag on the article was when there was no content, and only a marking saying the page is a stub. I have a valid reason for nominating it. After, you put information on it, though, the tag was invalid, therefore you could have removed the speedy deletion tag. I have reviewed Wikipedia policies, and I suggest you do the same.--LAAFan 18:51, 14 August 2008 (UTC)
Being Civil
[edit]I've just seen the post you left on LAAFan's talk page. I personally feel the tone of that comment was unneccessary. Can I suggest you look at WP:CIVIL and try to be more civil in future. Remember that not all editors will have the same views as you but that their views are often (indeed normally) still valid. In my opinion I think LAAFan was within his rights to add a speedy tag and did not break Wikipedia's rules. Personally I have a different take on the rule and so removed the speedy but I also understand his view and accept it's a different, but valid, inturpretaion of the rules. Going around accusing people of breaking rules is generally frowned upon except in very clear cases, which this is not. Instead in this case I'd have recommended that you start a dialog with LAAFan. Hope this is of some help. Dpmuk (talk) 19:08, 15 August 2008 (UTC)
