Your edits to Redeemer University
[edit]Hi Shannon, I wanted to let you know that I've added a couple maintenance tags to the article Redeemer University. I'm aware that you have a disclosed COI - I've added a template to the article's talk page disclosing that as well. If you plan on continuing to work on this article, I recommend you review WP:GNG to see what type sources we accept - Generally, sources should be reliable and independent. There are some good sources on the article now (The Spectator, CHML, National Post) but a lot of the sources are primary. ThadeusOfNazerethTalk to Me! 00:21, 16 November 2021 (UTC)

[edit]Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give Redeemer University College a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into Redeemer University. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.
In most cases for registered users, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. - Hello, ShannonMAMcBride,
- Please work on Redeemer University College if you want to improve an article about Redeemer University. Do not create a similar article with a slightly different title. Liz Read! Talk! 04:05, 16 November 2021 (UTC)
- Liz, I think the problem was that ShannonMAMcBride had unsuccessfully tried to move Redeemer University College to its new name twice by requested move and then tried a cut and paste move. I have posted a third requested move and hope it will work this time.
- ShannonMAMcBride, hi, I see you are an occasional editor at Wikipedia. When things don't work, I recommend asking for advice at Wikipedia:Teahouse or Wikipedia:Help desk, mentioning that you work for the university. You could also set up a watchlist and get email alerts when the university article is edited, see Help:Watchlist#Email notification. TSventon (talk) 12:32, 16 November 2021 (UTC)
- Hi again, Redeemer University College and the German article de:Redeemer University College have now been moved to Redeemer University. TSventon (talk) 14:36, 23 November 2021 (UTC)
