References?[edit]

Hi, I saw your edits here. Wikipedia requires that content be verifiable. Do you have any reliable sources you can add to the article to support your addition? Otherwise, the content is likely to be removed. Thanks, Cyphoidbomb (talk) 19:40, 4 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm Materialscientist. I noticed that you made a change to an article, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Materialscientist (talk) 12:51, 5 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Shayer2, though I appreciate your effort to find references for the content you submitted here at Khaleda Zia, we can't use Wikipedia for a reference. So if you can find the original references (they might be linked in the articles you are citing) that would be appreciated, otherwise the info will likely be removed from the article. Thanks, Cyphoidbomb (talk) 17:19, 5 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I am sorry that I violated copyright rules, I just need one chance and I won't do it, I will respect the rules of wikipedia

Decline reason:

Sorry, but we need a bit more than that. You need to show (not say) that you understand why you were blocked. If you post another unblock request, you will need to:

  • Explain what copyright is
  • Explain why Wikipedia cannot host copyrighted content
  • Tell us what you plan to do in future to make sure that you don't violate copyright again

Simply saying, "I broke the rules, I won't do it again," does not show us that you know what rules you broke, and therefore that you know how to avoid breaking them in the future. Yunshui  08:10, 14 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Why did it happen at all? And why, after two warnings to stop, and a notification that you had been reported for administrative intervention, did you add copyrighted content over three more edits and fail to respond to any of the warnings? Cyphoidbomb (talk) 14:48, 14 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I am sorry I did not check my talk page. I went directly to editing Khaleda Zia. Afterwards I checked my talk page and wanted to delete everything but Diannaa already blocked me. I am really sorry for all of this mess.

Re unblock request[edit]

Though the user's unblock request seems genuine at face value, I'm a little uncomfortable endorsing an unblock, because not only did the user copy/paste whole sections of content from various sources, which demonstrates a fundamental lack of understanding of academic honesty, ("don't copy" is a lesson we all learn in kindergarten) but they also resubmitted that same lifted content after it had been reverted numerous times. I'm also finding it hard to believe that the user didn't see the big red notifications next to their name when they came back to edit multiple times. Oh, also the user copy/pasted the dictionary definition of copyright into his unblock request. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 18:42, 23 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I`d say he should just be unblocked per WP:ROPE. If he keeps up the behavior and Is just trying to get a sympathetic admin to unblock him so he can continue to edit disruptively, we can block him again and leave him be. Cheers! Happy Attack Dog (you rang?) 02:15, 24 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I understand that Wikipedia cannot allow it's editors to insert copyrighted information to it's articles. Copyright is a a right given to someone for a fixed number of years to publish. Wikipedia's administrators cannot allow copyrighted information to be inserted because of legal reasons. Instead of listening I inserted copyrighted material to Khaleda Zia. When even your sample edit to show you properly understand copyright needs to be redacted as a copyright violation, I have ZERO confidence that you understand WP:COPYRIGHT and WP:CLOSEPARAPHRASE at all - this is a danger to the project the panda ₯’ 11:20, 27 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Shayer2. I am disinclined to unblock, because all the content you added was directly copied from the sources; none of it seems to have been original material written by yourself. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously, as it's against the law. I need to be sure that you understand how to write material in your own words that is based on good sources and does not have to be reverted or removed. So to ensure that you understand how to edit here, could you please give an example of an edit you would like to perform? Which article? Which sources? What content would you add? Thanks. -- Diannaa (talk) 01:50, 25 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

In order to give you an example of an edit I would like to perform in Khaleda Zia, could you tell me where I should put the edit — Preceding unsigned comment added by Shayer2 (talkcontribs)

''''Example of Edit on Khaleda Zia

(Redacted)

I don't see any substantial difference between this content above, and the content at http://www.banglapedia.org/HT/Z_0016.htm, which you've cited. You've basically copied and pasted six paragraphs from Banglapedia, and changed a few words here and there, but it is identical in substance. This further demonstrates to that you don't understand what plagiarism is, or why it is problematic. If you had submitted the content above into the article, I would have reverted it for blatant copyvio. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 17:03, 26 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry but the content is a copyright violation and cannot be added to the encyclopedia. You can see at the bottom of the source page the message "©Copyright Banglapedia 2012. All Rights Reserved." That means it's illegal for you to copy the material over to our wiki. It should not even appear here on your talk page, so I have removed it. -- Diannaa (talk) 17:51, 26 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I have not copied the words inside wikipedia. I have written the words on my own even though some of them seem to be copied. I have not copy pasted the paragraphs and added words to it. I am sorry but that is the truth.
