Non-free images[edit]

Thank you for contributing to Wikipedia. We always appreciate when users upload new images. However, it appears that one or more of the images you have recently uploaded or added to a page, specifically Filipino Americans, may fail our non-free image policy. Most often, this involves editors uploading or using a copyrighted image of a living person. For other possible reasons, please read up on our Non-free image criteria. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. -- Marchjuly (talk) 21:46, 24 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Alright, thank you. Shenzhenpeters (talk) 21:50, 24 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
No problem. Non-free images such as File:Victoria Manalo Draves.jpg are almost always not allowed to be used in infobox galleries like the one "Filipino Americans" because such usage tends to be decorative in an article that is not specifically about the individual-in-question. It's a good idea to click on an image and check it's licensing before adding it to such an infobox to see whether it's freely licensed or non-free content. Anything freely licensed can be typically used as long as it satisfies WP:IUP, but that still does not guarantee there is a consensus to use the image. Who to add and who to remove can sometimes lead to disagreements, so try and discuss any disagreements over such things on the article talk page per WP:BRD if something freely licensed which you added is removed by another editor. Good luck. -- Marchjuly (talk) 22:00, 24 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
