Hello everyone! I will resume here my experience on Wikipedia as I am participating in the project Wikipedia:GLAM/UNIBG/Heritage studies and ICT. After some initial difficulties in understanding how to improve this amazing encyclopedia, I translated some parts from the Italian page of Gromo into English. Here you can find the parts I translated: - Geography (territory, karstic cavern, climate); - Oringins of the name; - History (Origins and Middle Ages); - Monuments and interesting places (Religious architectures: Church of Saint Gregory the Great, Church of Saint James and Saint Vincent, Chapel of Saint Benedict, Church of the Holy Trinity, Church of the visit of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Church of Saint Bernardino of Siena, Church of Our Lady of Sorrows; Civil architectures: Milesi Palace, Bonetti Palace, Liberty villas; Militar architectures: Ginami castle, Castle and Priacini Tower, Olivari's tower); - Culture (Penna d'Oro - dialect contest); - Anthropic geography (Hamlets: Boario, Spiazzi, Ripa). I also tried to add some references and thought to insert the same bibliography of the Italian page hoping it would be helpful to anyone interested in this topic. Following what I was translating, anytime I could find available a Wikipedia article in English I added it as a link (especially for unusual words or people). I also added on wikimedia a picture I took last december and published it on the page.

I hope I did my best, even if I know I am here to learn, so please correct my possible mistakes. Best regards Sherl1997

Welcome!

Your article

[edit]

Hello Sherl1997, you recently created a paragraph about yourself in the article space. Such pages usually go to your userpage. Was that your intention? Pahunkat (talk) 15:41, 13 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I was trying to add the link to my userpage in the wikipedia page connected to my exam (this one Wikipedia:GLAM/UNIBG/Heritage studies and ICT as my other colleagues problably did. Was I wrong?

Usually we keep information about users strictly to their userpages (yours is here), as the article space is reserved for fully-fledged articles. Nothing to worry about though, an admin will come and delete that page. Remember to sign your posts on talk pages with four tildes, like this: ~~~~. Thanks, Pahunkat (talk) 15:55, 13 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment, or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.
