March 2023[edit]

Information icon Hello. This is a message to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions, such as the edit(s) you made to Steven Elder, did not appear to be constructive and have been reverted. Please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at our welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make test edits, please use your sandbox for that. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. Jauerbackdude?/dude. 13:41, 1 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Honestly why I don't understand why you are doing this. I tried to revert information that you have altered/deleted - ie taking away recent information - that is perfectly well cited in national press and on public record ( I do however take your point about IMDB not being a good source).
Now the page is under threat for deletion. Please go ahead and delete the page. Silverwood1931 (talk) 14:10, 1 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not remove Articles for deletion notices from articles or remove other people's comments in Articles for deletion pages, as you did with Steven Elder. Doing so won't stop the discussion from taking place. You are, however, welcome to comment about the proposed deletion on the appropriate page. Thank you. Jauerbackdude?/dude. 14:16, 1 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Please go ahead and delete the page. You are wrong in your assessment of the page, but please delete it. Silverwood1931 (talk) 14:27, 1 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you vandalize Wikipedia, as you did at Steven Elder. Jauerbackdude?/dude. 16:14, 1 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

You are the one vandalising the page. You have removed info without cause. Silverwood1931 (talk) 16:17, 1 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
You are cyber bullying. You have interfered with a page which is well sourced. Any changes I have made are attempts to comply with the "concerns" you have raised to justify the removal of information. Please STOP, or delete the page.
Where and to whom do I report your behaviour? Silverwood1931 (talk) 16:23, 1 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Same place he's reported your behaviour, a talk page warning than it can get escalated if needed. Jauer is not cybebullying you, this is a discussion page. Oaktree b (talk) 16:50, 1 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I disagree. And any discussion needs to be two-way, and none of that has happened. There has been NO discussion. Just heavy handed behaviour from the admin in question. And now your threat escalate! Easy I guess when you are anonymous! I feel that is cyber-bullying also. If there was real discussion, the admin wouldn't have reacted by nominating the account for deletion, and would have explained why the sources - totally independent as they are - were not acceptable.
What is the complaints procedure? Silverwood1931 (talk) 17:01, 1 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
WP:AN/I is the complaints procedure - but be aware your behaviour will also be looked at. —Jéské Couriano (No further replies will be forthcoming.) 17:13, 1 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for the information. I appreciate that. I don't expect a reply - or indeed want one, or will be looking for one! Particularly if it is going to continue the rather threatening tone you and your colleagues have adopted. If that isn't cyber-bullying - then what it is?
There is something toxic about the culture of Wikipedia's and I suspect it lies in admins who are untrained, or perhaps do not have the personal skills, to deal directly with people.
Anyway I have learned my lesson - and won't be part of this community.
Thanks for your time. My sincere advice is to step away from the keyboard and do do something "real world"!
Good luck. Silverwood1931 (talk) 17:53, 1 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
In all fairness, your own aggression isn't helping your case here. You're responding to templated messages with vitriol. —Jéské Couriano (No further replies will be forthcoming.) 18:16, 1 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I am no longer making ANY case with regard to the page. I really don't care about it much.
I did feel the original admin's response was heavy handed, though. In my clumsy way I was attempting to improve a problematic page by redrafting it. And the subsequent statement of "vandalism", and threats of "escalation" and "looking at me" from several of you could have been a little better worded. They did seem very ominous!
I think you make a fair point. My response was even more heavy handed (!), and I should have calibrated it.
I would like to drop this now. I'm clearly not suited to the world of Wikipedia editing, and am looking forward to a Wiki free life!! I'll leave it to people who are much more technically gifted.
I would just like to gently say that I think we ALL should have thought more carefully about the impact of the written word.
Genuinely good luck to you guys. I think a lot of what admins do on here is hugely useful to people, and I'm very glad wikipedia exists.
(I just need to stay away from it!) Silverwood1931 (talk) 20:22, 1 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
