Speedy deletion nomination of Brook framework

[edit]

Hello Silvioprog,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Brook framework for deletion, because it doesn't appear to contain any encyclopedic content. Take a look at our suggestions for essential content in short articles to learn what should be included.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Kebabipita (talk) 20:12, 4 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Creating empty articles

[edit]

Hi there. I don't think you're allowed to create articles that are under construction. You should instead write the article in your sandbox (can be found on the top right of your screen) and then create it when you're done. Kebabipita (talk) 20:14, 4 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Brook framework with this edit. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links may include, but are not limited to, links to personal websites, links to websites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a website or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you. Tbhotch. Grammatically incorrect? Correct it! Stop icon This is your last warning. The next time you remove a speedy deletion notice from a page you have created yourself, as you did at Brook framework, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. - SDPatrolBot (talk) 22:00, 4 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Brook framework requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This article or image appears to be a direct copy from https://github.com/silvioprog/brookframework. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.  Ronhjones  (Talk) 22:01, 4 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Why your page was deleted

[edit]

If the reasons that Brook framework was deleted were unclear, here's my attempt at explaining it:

  • You copy-pasted the article here from Github. We don't accept copy-pastes from other websites on the grounds of copyright infringement.
  • There were no references at all in the article. If you want to make an article on something, it can't have just its official website as a source. It must have third-party coverage. Please read Wikipedia:Verifiability and Wikipedia:Identifying reliable sources.
  • The article was not written objectively, it was written like an advertisement - which isn't allowed here. If you write an article again, avoid words/phrases like "perfect" and "you will appreciate," etc. Wikipedia is not for getting the word out about your project - it is to act as a collection of information on something that already has a reasonable amount of third-party coverage.

As the article stood when it was deleted, there's no reason your page should be undeleted at this point. It was in clear violation of these.

Additionally, if you are only here to promote your project, and not to help contribute to Wikipedia, you stand in a conflict of interest. If the Brook framework really is popular/covered enough, someone else will write the article for you. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask at the Wikipedia help desk.
