Speedy deletion of AbsolutelyNew, Inc.[edit]

A tag has been placed on AbsolutelyNew, Inc., requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. I've deleted the article (it was deleted by another admin earlier). I have wrestled myself with what to do about articles like this, but after a lot of discussion, I'm positive that Wikipedians in general strongly object to articles that sound like they might be a brochure for the company, and in fact, they want the articles deleted on sight, before they get picked up by Google and other search indexes. If someone might think from reading your article, "Hey, that sounds great, where do I sign up?", then we probably don't want it in Wikipedia. - Dan Dank55 (push to talk) 18:04, 5 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Dan, Thank you for explanation. I appreciate your clarity and understand your reasoning.

In this case, the company decided to develop a Wikipedia entry to address recent queries about its business, particularly its UIA certification and Board of Directors (one of whom has her own Wikipedia page). I understand how it could come off as a “pitch” to Wikipedians, and have edited the submission to a bare boned entry of notable and reliable information, void of anything that could be perceived as self-promotion. With the help of Wikipedia editor, FreeRangeFrog, I’ve also deleted irrelevant sources.

I hope this helps in explaining where the company is coming from, and in creating the Wikipedia page for ANI. Please let me know if there is anything else that needs revision.

Repeated creation of article[edit]

Hi - you need to stop creating the article. It will continue to be tagged for deletion as long as you fail to include valid claims of notability. I hope the guidance I gave you on my talk page did not lead you to think that the one reference you added is enough to establish notability under WP:CORP, because it is not. If you continue to do this, you risk being blocked from editing Wikipedia. I can help you transfer the contents of your article to a location under your user page, where you can work on it until you have enough third-party references that would avoid this delete/create cycle. Let me know if that's something you want to do. §FreeRangeFrog 19:07, 5 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, that would be great. Could you please help me transfer the article to a location under my user page where I can work on it? Thanks Sjhass (talk) 19:09, 5 March 2009 (UTC)Sarah[reply]

Done. It's at User:Sjhass/AbsolutelyNew, Inc.. I cannot stress enough my recommendation to put off re-creating the article in the main "namespace" (where it's being deleted from right now) until you have enough sources. Feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you need further assistance. I would also recommend editing the article up for deletion right now and replacing the contents with {{db-g7}} so that an admin knows you agree to have it removed because you're working on it. I cannot do that for you, it has to be done by the original creator. Good luck! §FreeRangeFrog 19:21, 5 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Unreferenced BLPs[edit]

Hello Sjhass! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot notifying you on behalf of the the unreferenced biographies team that 1 of the articles that you created is currently tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 942 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:
