Speedy deletion nomination of Marcio Marques[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Marcio Marques requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Follow-up to deletion[edit]

Note that I have deleted the article Marcio Marques under the A7 criteria for deletion, namely there was no clear importance or significance asserted for the individual. You mentioned he had played with notable individuals, but having worked with someone famous does not automatically confer notability. Please review WP:MUSICBIO, and if you believe that Marcio Marques meets the notability criteria for inclusion outlined therein I would suggest starting an article in your user subspace (such as User:Sounddesignusa/Marcio Marques). I could also move a copy of the deleted article there for you if you'd like. This will give you extra time to work on the article at your leisure without worrying it will be immediately deleted. Once it is complete it can then be moved into article space. Your submission at Articles for creation[edit]

I noticed your submission in Articles for creation, Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Marcio marques. Thanks! It will be reviewed by a volunteer soon.

Before it can be added to Wikipedia, your submission should have references. All articles on Wikipedia should have inline, numbered references after facts, showing the 'reliable source' (a newspaper, book, etc.) where the information can be checked, so that all information is verifiable.

Here's a video tutorial - hit play, then right-click for "full screen".

Here's an example of how to add references:

That makes the references automatically display as small numbers[1], which will link to the details in the section titled == References == at the end. You can see that example in action here.
