Removed unreferenced

[edit]

I had to remove the last two paragraphs from the draft, so that I could accept it, because they did not have any references.

If possible, could you add them back some time with appropriate references.

I will paste it below. Thanks,  Chzz  ►  02:54, 14 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Through the years, the Sisters have expanded their ministry, not only in scope but in reach. After the Second Vatican Council concluded in 1965, the Holy Father called on each religious community to send members to less fortunate populations. Some Holy Cross Sisters went abroad to serve Nicaraguans and Carrier Indians (in British Columbia) while other stayed stateside and worked with Appalachians, Oneida Indians and inner-city residents of Chicago and Milwaukee.

In more recent years, the Sisters have studied current issues and committed to three social issues: One, the campaign for debt relief; two, the suspension of the death penalty; and three, the reallocation of military spending for social needs. In 1998, the Sisters along with their Associates created a new ministry on the west side of Green Bay. This house of respite for women is called Wellspring, and is where more than 300 women are served each year. Wellspring was a 2008 grant recipient from the Greater Green Bay Community Foundation.
