[edit]

Hello, I'm 4twenty42o. I wanted to let you know that I undid one of your recent contributions, such as the one you made with this edit to Stephen Marcus, because it didn’t appear constructive to me. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks, 4twenty42o (talk) 15:01, 20 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi just so you are informed, I reported your user name due to an apparent conflict of interest. I suggest you stop editing the marcus page and change your name. thanks 4twenty42o (talk) 15:08, 20 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

i don't understand why you are targetting me. i've just joined wikipedia to updatethe page about me that has inaccurate informaation and you seem to keep blocking me. why?

i havent blocked? anyone. i reverted your edits because you apparently have a conflict of interest WP:COI. you are also incessantly re-adding the same information over and over. i will however leave it be for now as another user has expressed concern over my actions in reporting you. i strongly suggest you pick a name that does not contain the name of the article you are editing. regards 4twenty42o (talk) 15:28, 20 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

every time i have tried to put new information up it doesn't go up, which is why i may be repeating it. My name is Stephen Marcus which is why i have used it in my username, i don't really get why i should use some fictional name just to suit you. the article is about me and is inaccurate so i want to change it and to add to my filmography, how is that a conflict of interest? Are you saying that someone can put information about me on wikipedia but I, the person concerned cannot alter that info?

There is no username violation—users are allowed to use their real names (otherwise I'd be blocked), even if they violate the conflict of interest policy and edit the article about themselves. However, Mr. Marcus, to that end I commend to your attention this page. I am willing to help you if you want to correct the inaccuracies and can provide reliable independent third-party sources for the correct information. Thank you Daniel, if i need your help i may take you up on your offer. I would appear to be able to edit at the moment.

Since Daniel has stepped in and straightened me out, I'd like to apologize for the confusion on my part. I hope you understand that none of this is personal but more of a misunderstanding regarding username policies on my part. I sincerely hope my actions do not discourage you from contributing in the future. - 4twenty42o (talk) 15:57, 20 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you. It would all appear to be cleared up now and no it won't stop me contributing in future. Good Luck to you.
