January 2023[edit]

Information icon Hi Sydney012023! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia—it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information. Thank you. Hello Sydney012023. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Sydney012023. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Sydney012023|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. Mako001 (C)  (T)  🇺🇦 14:20, 8 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Sydney012023 (talk) 13:10, 9 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi there, I hope you are well.
First, I would like to apologize because I've violated Wikipedia rules. I agree with all consequences. I opened my first Wikipedia account on January 3, 2023, and since then, I've abused my editor privileges. Honestly, I was just on holiday, and I had nothing to do but write. I wasn't mindful at all. So, again, apologies.
Second, I would like to ask your help to unblock my account. I will delete all articles that I've created and drafted associated with my accounts (Sydney012023 and its Sockpuppetry). After that, I will vanish from Wikipedia completely. You can block my IP and everything.
Thank you,
Sydney012023 Sydney012023 (talk) 13:10, 9 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
If you want all articles you've created deleted, that will happen for the drafts after 6 months anyway, see WP:G13, and there aren't any articles left. If you want to leave Wikipedia, you can do so quite easily with your account still blocked. Your IP is likely already blocked anyway.
I would like to confirm, were these all of the other accounts you used?
I'm somewhat inclined to believe you when you say you were travelling, though I won't say exactly why. Mako001 (C)  (T)  🇺🇦 14:59, 9 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Noted. Thank you for letting me know. I see, 'holiday' is not the right word, implying traveling away from home. What I meant was that I was on break. Alright then, goodbye and good luck with Wikipedia! Sydney012023 (talk) 19:10, 9 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Can you confirm that the above list of accounts were the only other accounts you used? Mako001 (C)  (T)  🇺🇦 06:01, 10 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Sydney012023. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "ITB Faculty of Art and Design".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been deleted. When you plan on working on it further and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.
