Referencing

[edit]

Hello Tanyhunter. When you create an an article, please add references to it as well. If you need help on how to reference, please let me know. Thank you. ---Lemongirl942 (talk) 03:25, 14 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Lemongirl! I did it as Wikipedia help said using cite web but i could not figure out how reference list works. How do i do up the ref list? Thanks!
Hello Tanyhunter. For the list of references, we use {{Reflist}} in the references section. I see that you have already added the reference list at Kranji Reservoir Park and other article. What I meant was to add some more references - newspaper reports etc. I can help you with some of the formatting as well. As a small suggestion, it would be good if you start your next article in the draft namespace. For example, at Draft:Kranji Reservoir Park instead of Kranji Reservoir Park. Drafting give you more time to play around and make the article better. When your article is ready, you can move it into mainspace.
Another important thing to do is to indent your comments. You can look at Help:Cheatsheet for more. It is a pretty useful guide for some basic formatting. --Lemongirl942 (talk) 08:16, 14 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Signing posts

[edit]

Hey, here's a small description about how to "sign" posts on Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button ( or ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. --Lemongirl942 (talk) 08:06, 14 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
