December 2011[edit]

Hi Terry609, the edits you are making to NORAD Tracks Santa are unreferenced and blatantly untrue. Please stop re-inserting the material. This is an encyclopedia, not an entertaining story to tell children. If you continue, you are at risk of being blocked from editing for vandalism or disruption. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Terrence mcgoldrick requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. ./zro (⠠⠵) 05:23, 17 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

April 2012[edit]

Welcome, and thank you for your attempt to lighten up Wikipedia. However, this is an encyclopedia and the articles are intended to be serious, so please don't make joke edits, as you did to Tooth fairy. Readers looking for accurate information will not find them amusing. If you'd like to experiment with editing, try the sandbox, where you can write practically anything you want. ./zro (⠠⠵) 05:44, 17 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your contribution to Santa Claus, but we are trying to write an encyclopedia here, so please keep your edits factual and neutral. Our readers are looking for serious articles and will not find joke edits amusing. Remember that Wikipedia is a widely used reference tool, so we have to take what we do here seriously. If you'd like to experiment with editing, use the sandbox to get started. Thank you. ./zro (⠠⠵) 05:45, 17 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop introducing jokes into articles, such as those you created at NORAD Tracks Santa. Wikipedia is a serious encyclopedia, and contributions of this type are considered vandalism. Continuing to add jokes and other disruptive content into articles may lead to you being blocked from editing. ./zro (⠠⠵) 05:47, 17 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The usual inclusion standard for an article is here. A subguide for musicians is here. That's the context for "significance" or "notability" discussed. In general, Wikipedia is an encyclopaedia - we summarise secondary sources; those need to exist first, before an article can be written here. WilyD 07:20, 20 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
