April 2016

[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Please be particularly aware that Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. livelikemusic talk! 01:58, 24 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited The Formation World Tour, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Balmain. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

FWT images

[edit]

Those FWT images are brilliant! Did you encourage Rocbeyonce to upload them? —JennKR | 18:29, 4 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@JennKR: Yes! I messaged him on twitter and instructed him on how to do so because I thought they were too good to miss out on. Some of the best quality, fan taken photos I've ever seen and thought it would be a waste of an opportunity, since a fan is much easier to persuade to upload rather than a professional! He said he snuck in his professional camera into the concert which I thought was brilliant, since they are typically banned. ThirdWard (talk) 18:46, 4 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

WP:SYNT

[edit]

Please, read the guideline, it is not allowed to add your SYNT in the lead section or anywhere in the article. It's even been discussed for a second time. You're literally going against two guidelines. Cornerstonepicker (talk) 23:17, 3 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I've reworded it to avoid being "SYNT". I was going off of the fact that almost every tour and song article on Wikipedia, including Good and Featured Articles (see: Zoo TV Tour, Baby Boy (Beyoncé song) leads, for example), have a lead that gives a general overview of both the critical and commercial success of the tour based on the sources used within the article. I have reworded the article like I said to avoid being in an edit war with you, but your hall monitoring really wasn't necessary or helpful to the article, especially since you seem to be picking and choosing what articles to enforce (like I said, almost every tour and song article has a general overview of the critical reception). ThirdWard (talk) 10:26, 4 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@ThirdWard: A lot (looot) of articles about songs and tours have had their critical SYNT removed. You're free to remove them where you see it. I'll see the article later. Cornerstonepicker (talk) 04:01, 5 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom Elections 2016: Voting now open!

[edit]

Hello, ThirdWard. Voting in the 2016 Arbitration Committee elections is open from Monday, 00:00, 21 November through Sunday, 23:59, 4 December to all unblocked users who have registered an account before Wednesday, 00:00, 28 October 2016 and have made at least 150 mainspace edits before Sunday, 00:00, 1 November 2016.

The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2016 election, please review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 22:08, 21 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Formation Tour image

[edit]

The image in "Boxscore" section is so ugly and horrible. It makes Bey look like a monkey. It is not a good image. Why do you want to keep it?14:20, 17 January 2017 (UTC)49.195.85.187 (talk)

The image is free for use, of a good quality and subjectively a really good image, showcasing a powerful silhouette. In no way, shape or form does it resemble a monkey, which is just blatant racism on your apart. If you can find a better image that is free for use and arguably "better" than the one in use, feel free to replace it. Although, hiding behind an IP throwing around racist remarks is not a good way to get your edits valued or likely to be un-reverted by the community. Thanks ThirdWard (talk) 18:43, 17 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hello there. Would you care to review or comment at my nomination of House of Music for featured status? The previous nomination did not gather enough commentary, so anything at all would be appreciated. Dan56 (talk) 07:11, 26 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

DYK for The Formation World Tour

[edit]

On 5 May 2017, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article The Formation World Tour, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that The Formation World Tour by Beyoncé featured a 60-foot (18 m) tall rotating LED cube as the stage's focal point, nicknamed the "Monolith" by designers? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/The Formation World Tour. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, The Formation World Tour), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Survey Invite

[edit]

I'm working on a study of political motivations and how they affect editing. I'd like to ask you to take a survey. The survey should take 5 minutes. Your survey responses will be kept private. Our project is documented at https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Research:Wikipedia_%2B_Politics.

Survey Link: http://uchicago.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_80J3UDCpLnKyWTH?Q_DL=3dz0m2ubQw1KSnb_80J3UDCpLnKyWTH_MLRP_ezWVo69NoXGX46F&Q_CHL=gl

I am asking you to participate in this study because you are a frequent editor of pages on Wikipedia that are of political interest. We would like to learn about your experiences in dealing with editors of different political orientations.

Sincere thanks for your help! Porteclefs (talk) 15:21, 27 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Removed your talk page archiving settings

[edit]

Hi! I took the liberty of removing the auto-archiving settings at the top of this page, since it wasn't working. If you'd still like to have your talk page automatically archived, I'd recommend you follow the instructions at User:Lowercase_sigmabot_III/Archive_HowTo#Example_2:_Incremental_archives, and set the counter to 2. If you need any help, let me know! --rchard2scout (talk) 12:01, 6 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
