Listing "FSM himself.jpg" for deletion[edit]

Just an FYI that I'm going to list the Flying Spaghetti Monster image on the Images for Deletion page. I have absolutely nothing against the image, and in fact, have tried to convince the author to license it under the GDFL, but he has resisted. That means that it actually can't be on Wikipedia, a fact I made him aware of, but it didn't change his opinion on the matter. Alas. Jason 22:46, August 25, 2005 (UTC)

FYI, Bobby Henderson reconsidered, and the image is now released under the GFDL, so I've removed the listing on Images for Deletion. Jason 23:40, August 25, 2005 (UTC)

C. C. Wayne[edit]

Hi Tim, you created the article for Carl Curtis Wayne with the obit in it, and it was tagged as "An article about a real person, group of people, band or club that does not assert the importance or significance of its subject" (A7 in WP:CSD). You say he is notable and you will fix that in time, which is great, so instead of deleting it I have moved it to your user space at User:Timwayne/Carl Curtis Wayne where you can work it up until it is ready. The sort of things we need to know about are detailed in this article. Let me know if you need help moving it back when you're done. And welcome to Wikipedia :-) - Just zis  Guy, you know? Image copyright problem with Image:Carlcurtiswayne.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Carlcurtiswayne.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me, or ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. --Hetar 07:09, 7 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Your edits to conservapedia[edit]

Welcome, and thank you for adding your humour to Wikipedia. However, the articles are meant to be serious, so please don't make joke edits, as you did to Conservapedia. Some readers looking for a serious article might not find them amusing. If you'd like to experiment with editing, try the sandbox, where you can write whatever you want (as long as it's not offensive). You might also want to check out Wikipedia:Bad Jokes and Other Deleted Nonsense.

Please do not upload copyrighted images without a accurate fair use rationale. Thanks, Andjam 03:55, 14 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Andjam, this image was on the dinosaur entry on Conservapedia up until a few days ago. The image is not there now but it was. Here is a screenshot of the page before the image was scrubbed: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Jesus-dino-conservapedia.png I believe it is fair to add this picture to the Wiki entry on Conservapedia because it is representative of their overall content. I believe it should be added back to the page. Timwayne 04:08, 14 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
further, I think the screen capture [1] represents a current event in action: the Conservapedia redacting its pages of embarrassing information (for example, see the history of the Conservapedia unicorn entry [2] ). Timwayne 05:22, 14 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for Image:Jesus-on-dinosaur.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Jesus-on-dinosaur.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 04:09, 14 March 2007 (UTC)

Hello! I moved a page you created from WilliamSwank to William Swank so that it has more standard spacing for a personal name. KathrynLybarger (talk) 03:12, 27 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you.

A tag has been placed on Xodus USA, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising that only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}} on the top of Xodus USA and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from independent reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Alchemist Jack (talk) 19:27, 12 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image (File:Xodus USA Logo.jpg)[edit]

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Xodus USA Logo.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. ZooFari 04:02, 22 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
