Please do not add external links to Nature Manitoba unless there is a good encyclopaedic reason for doing so. Adding external links quickly makes an article very cluttered. I am slowly working through botanical articles weeding out redundant links. If a plant is endemic to North America then a link through to plants.usda.gov, a link to a distribution map (if not already in the article) and a link to a herbarium specimen is usually all that is required. At present what you are doing looks very much like link spamming so please stop and reconsider the worth of any links you add. Thank you.  Velella  Velella Talk   13:11, 20 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Looking again at the links you are adding, it is clear that this is self promotion and very clearly link spamming. Please stop or risk being blocked from editing.  Velella  Velella Talk   13:13, 20 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I don't consider this spam. I am providing a great explanation of each species, including clear photographs. Most of the websites I have visited online on these plants are poorly done or incomplete, which is why I created these pages several years ago. I got grants to do them at the time. I don't do this type of work now as I am retired. I won't get any money or work from these sites. I hope to help people at these plant sites to get a better botanical understanding of the plant. People put their name on a photograph. This is mainly what I am doing but for a group of scientific photos. Tjreaume (talk) 20:14, 20 June 2016 (UTC) Tom Reaume[reply]

OK no more external links will be added. 74.15.248.216 (talk) 11:26, 21 June 2016 (UTC) TR[reply]

Information icon Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia, as you did to Rosa woodsii. While objective prose about beliefs, organisations, people, products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not intended to be a vehicle for soapboxing, advertising or promotion. Thank you.  Velella  Velella Talk   13:21, 20 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop adding inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Carex pellita. It is considered spamming and Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or promotion. Because Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, additions of links to Wikipedia will not alter search engine rankings. If you continue spamming, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia.  Velella  Velella Talk   13:25, 20 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you insert a spam link, as you did at Oenothera biennis. Persistent spammers may have their websites blacklisted, preventing anyone from linking to them from all Wikimedia sites as well as potentially being penalized by search engines.  Velella  Velella Talk   13:27, 20 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
