The Echoes
[edit]Hi
I moved your page to The Echoes - as I understand it yours is the only article about that band, so the years they were active aren't really necessary in the page name.
Cheers, Amalthea (talk) 12:07, 20 June 2008 (UTC)
Hi Could you please replace the title as it was. The reason for the years were for people to understand who the personnel of this group were and the time they were with this group.. Thank you.. Cheers ualrightfred.... (talk) 13:06, 20 June 2008 (UTC)
- Hmm, I could, but I don't think it makes sense since there is no article article about the band itself then. People would also have a harder time finding the article if they are looking for "The Echoes" in the Search box, and there were already two articles linking to The Echoes directly. I'd say that the best structure is something like in The Rolling Stones: Have a brief overview about the band, and then a history section pretty much like you already have. If one of those sections is getting to big then, it can still be split to its own article.
Has the band been active outside the period you described, or did they dissolve after 1971. I have to admit that I don't know the band and found very little in the Internet, so I might be completely wrong. :)
Cheers, Amalthea (talk) 13:36, 20 June 2008 (UTC)
The Echoes have not been active since 1971 when they were dissolved. There are also quite a few articles on the web. I will find the site addresses and post them. The Echoes are mentioned in several books namely "Dusty" by Lucy O'Brien pub: Sidgwick & Jackson Ltd. 1989 - "Dancing with Demons" by Penny Valentine & Vicki Wickham pub: Hodder & Stoughton 2000 - "The Complete Dusty Springfield" by Paul Howes pub: Reynolds & Hearn 2001. Cheers UALRIGHTFRED (talk) 14:00, 20 June 2008 (UTC)
- Ok, but can't we leave the article name as it is then? Your article is about the band, and not only about a specific period. --Amalthea (talk) 14:15, 20 June 2008 (UTC)
Hi. One problem I had when trying to find the article was when Typed in "The Echoes" it came up with over 9 million sites. As regards the period it was the only time that THESE Echoes were together and I know that there are other groups with the same name these days!! Also here is a web address of an article about The Echoes :- www.cpinternet.com/mbayly/article-echoes.htm This is them first time I have submitted anything for Wikipedia. I need to learn!! If you didn't have to go through page after page to find The Echoes I suppose that would be fine Cheers.....UALRIGHTFRED (talk) 14:57, 20 June 2008 (UTC)
- Apparently it's the only band of that name that has an article here. Should other noteable bands of that name get an article here, then one or both will get a disambiguation postfix, like "(UK band)" or something, but until then it's absolutely right that the page is just called "The Echoes".
9 million? That's more than there are article in wikipedia. :) If you search wikipedia for "The Echoes" now, you'll get directly to the article.
And just add a references section and add your books, weblinks and whereever you got the information from there, like:
== REFERENCES == * Griffiths, David. "Here's how a group gets to back a top singer ...", Record Mirror, April 9, 1966 <!--accessed June 20, 2008-->
- or better yet, using a template from here
REFERENCES
- See also Wikipedia:Citing sources for more guidelines about how to properly cite a resource, if you want to know - but really, the important thing is that the reference is in the article somehow. The same goes for the books.
--Amalthea (talk) 16:12, 20 June 2008 (UTC)
Hi Thank you for your time. The 9 million I told you about were on MSN not Wikipedia. I will read the guidlines and hope that I get it right. Cheers.........UALRIGHTFRED (talk) 01:38, 21 June 2008 (UTC)

Douggie Reece moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, Douggie Reece, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.
