Thanks for uploading Image:Super Kawaii.jpg to Wikipedia; I am afraid this image is unlikely to be acceptable for use on Wikipedia, since its original source is unknown. Image Tagging Image:Wrecking Ball For BOHS.jpg
[edit]This media may be deleted.
|
Thanks for uploading Image:Wrecking Ball For BOHS.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use {{GFDL}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other media, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. - Copied from my talk page. --Sherool (talk) 15:31, 21 March 2006 (UTC)
- I don't understand why everybody seems to want to remove images of my freaking school.
- But that's besides the point. The image was taken from google, which as far as I'm aware, is free for use by anyone.
- But the image has been deleted anyways. I'm sick of dealing with people who want to delete images of a school. For chrissakes', what is wrong with that? Vagrant 03:09, 21 March 2006 (UTC)
- I can asure you it's nothing personal hundreds of images are deleted for this same reason every day. Insufficient source or copyright info that is. Roughtly speaking Wikipedia policy require uploaded images to either be under a copyleft/free content license or used under a fair use claim. If an image is free to use the uploader have to provide enough information to prove this, because by law everyting is basicaly copyrighted by default. Copyright holders have to actively waive rights and lift restrictions to theyr work to make it free, therefore free licensed images need some kind of "proof" that the image is indeed free. How common something is on the internett or the lack of a copyright notice does not make something free. Nether does a permission to use something for non-commercial or private reasons, or in fact even a permission to use on Wikipedia. The terms have to explicitly allow for commercial use, re-distribution by third parties and modifications to be considered free enough for use on Wikipedia. If something is not "free enough" then fair use can sometimes be applied. In the case of fair use the copyright holders should if at all possible be identified and credited, and additionaly a fair use rationale must be written for every page the image is used on and the image must otherwise meet the critereas mentioned at Wikipedia:Fair use#Policy.
- Seeing as this particular image did not mention a source, or explain why it could be considered free for any purpose it was therefore deleted. Sometimes poorly labeled but legitemate images are deleted, wich is unfortunate, but if we can not verify the copyright info we can not risk keeping it, and I am actualy quite sure the Google map images are in fact fully copyrighted, at least theyr terms include "You may not use the imagery in any commercial or business environment or for any commercial or business purposes for yourself or any third parties.", and as explained abowe Wikipedia require images to be allowed for commercial use to be considered free. --Sherool (talk) 15:31, 21 March 2006 (UTC)
Regarding BOHS
[edit]I removed the content because it looked like vandalism to me, saying such as ' He is currently residing in El Paso, Texas with his little brother Brock where they are constructing fake rockets. ' 'Now, Aaron is studying underwater sewage removal off the coast of Kamchatka, Russia ' ' Class of 2001 - Casey Melton - For the majority of his years at, school Casey could be seen around campus with his fellow ruffians Josh Law and Zach Cavanaugh. Although he was not highly academic then, he now resides as the current Headmaster of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. ' It's obvious rubbish and doesn't belong. Unspecified source for Image:Students2.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Students2.jpg. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be a justification explaining why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Fair use rationale for Image:Wrecking_Ball_For_BOHS.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Wrecking_Ball_For_BOHS.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Rettetast 14:58, 27 September 2007 (UTC)

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:CIF Champs.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:CIF Champs.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 06:18, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
File source problem with File:Cornerstone of BOHS.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Cornerstone of BOHS.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 14:31, 10 July 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. —Bkell (talk) 14:31, 10 July 2009 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of File:Students preparing to leave classroom, Brea Olinda High School (c 2006).jpg
[edit]The file File:Students preparing to leave classroom, Brea Olinda High School (c 2006).jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Unused and blurry photo of some students leaving a classroom. No encyclopedic purpose.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.
Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. —Matr1x-101 (Ping me when replying) {user page (@ commons) - talk} 10:04, 9 August 2023 (UTC)
