Speedy deletion nomination of Brickplanet
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Brickplanet requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about web content that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. PamD 08:19, 10 August 2018 (UTC)

[edit]Please do not add or change content, as you did at Roblox, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. bonadea contributions talk 08:20, 11 August 2018 (UTC)
- Hello there. I have added some more citation to my edit. UltraChas (talk) 08:28, 11 August 2018 (UTC)

[edit]- The following discussion is closed. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section.
Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. - Assuming good faith doesn't mean an edit is valid and should stay. You've written a criticism section with poor sourcing. You cannot make statement such as "several news articles were written by parents", and show no evidence of it. Same for "Roblox have made comments on these accusations before", which doesn't appear in your source. Finally, the commentary from a random youtube video is not appropriate on any article. I almost decided to block you, because you reverted the edit again after Serge's warning, but I'm giving you one more chance to follow WP:BRD and use the article's talk page to work with more experienced editors first. -- ferret (talk) 13:39, 11 August 2018 (UTC)
- Hello there. In the future, I shall use an article's talk page to discuss edits instead of engaging in an edit war. Thanks for that advice. However, I disagree with your claim that my edit was poorly sourced, but eh. I'm quite new to Wikipedia, as shown by my join date, so I may make mistakes UltraChas (talk) 14:18, 11 August 2018 (UTC)
- You’ve got three separate experienced editors telling you that your edit was poorly sourced, and you conceding you’re new. Please take that as a sign that you’re in the wrong here. Stop spending so much time pushing back on things you clearly don’t understand yet, and put that effort towards understanding what you’re doing wrong and fixing it. - It doesn't matter how many editors claim that my edit was in the wrong. I'm gonna ignore you guys and this argument. I've only been on Wikipedia for a few days and I'm being attacked by admins already. UltraChas (talk) 15:10, 11 August 2018 (UTC)
- Hello Chas, you're a long way from Garmouth. Unfortunately Wikipedia has all these rules about sourcing and edit-warring and such, mostly because it just wouldn't work otherwise. (You'd have eighty million people all adding their personal opinions about everything, and it would just be a madhouse.) And YouTube is not well respected as a source here. I don't think people are really attacking you, they're just using fairly mild language to enforce the established rules that unfortunately are necessary. I strongly suggest staying away from the RoBlox article for a while -- I hope that's what you mean by ignoring "this argument". (Also avoid edit-warring, and avoid YouTube as a source!) I'll see if I can find sourcing that supports the content you were trying to add. MPS1992 (talk) 15:22, 11 August 2018 (UTC)

[edit]In regards to you saying this, the problem is that Wikipedia doesn’t generally consider most Youtubers to be a reliable source, and much of the content you added doesn’t support the content you wrote. You’re welcome to contribute to Wikipedia, but you need to slow down and learn the rules instead of constantly picking fights and giving everyone attitude. If you’d slow down and read up on Wikipedia, you’d start to learn the things you’re doing wrong, and people would stop undoing all your edits. But if all you’re going to do is ignore the rules and try to do whatever you want on popular pages that have lots of editors enforcing the rules, then no, editing Wikipedia won’t be a great experience for you. Sergecross73 msg me 16:31, 11 August 2018 (UTC)
- Ahhh I'm quite new to Wikipedia. I was wondering. Could you send some links to the policies so that I can read them. Thanks. UltraChas (talk) 17:20, 11 August 2018 (UTC)
- The policies are a bit of a mess, but a good place to start is Wikipedia:Five pillars -- there's also a "Wikipedia key policies and guidelines" section at the end of that.
- Regarding video game sources, the Wikipedia:WikiProject Video games/Sources link that Sergecross73 provided on the other page is useful. It is difficult reading -- not very concise -- but it can be worth scrolling down to the Reliable sources part (the green part) for specific sources considered reliable.
- I'll also put a welcome message below with links to more policies and guidelines -- you missed out on this because Cluebot left a slightly misleading message instead. Incidentally, because this is your talkpage, it's OK to remove the section left by Cluebot above if you want to. MPS1992 (talk) 17:37, 11 August 2018 (UTC)
To be clear, since it seems you’ve misunderstood again, when I said “Wikipedia won’t be a good experience for you”, I was alluding to the fact that if you continue to ignore the rules on popular pages, your edits will just be undone, and people won’t support your discussions, meaning you won’t be able to implement your changes. I’m saying it won’t be a good experience because you won’t ever get anything done. Stop taking everything you’re told in bad faith. No ones going to “demote” and admin for telling people to follow the rules and trying to explain them. Sergecross73 msg me 01:34, 14 August 2018 (UTC)
