Manual of style
[edit]Some of the articles you recently created have been hard to follow. Please see the manual of style for some basic conventions of Wikipedia articles. Please also make sure to write an introduction to each article explaining what the subject is and why we should care. Thanks! Stifle (talk) 11:16, 20 April 2008 (UTC)
This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Priyadarshini Tadkodkar, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.mail archive.com/goanet@goanet.org/msg30825.html. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences.
This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 12:49, 20 April 2008 (UTC)
Speedy deletion of Priyadarshini Tadkodkar
[edit]A tag has been placed on Priyadarshini Tadkodkar, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to have no meaningful content or history, and the text is unsalvageably incoherent. If the page you created was a test, please use the sandbox for any other experiments you would like to do. Feel free to leave a message on my talk page if you have any questions about this.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. (EhJJ)TALK 14:17, 20 April 2008 (UTC)
Biographical notes
[edit]'''Biographical Notes help to form Database''', which is necessary for research scholars at local as well as global levels. I fail to understand as why biographical notes are being deleted by Wikipedian adminsistrators. The biographical notes help to form database for all the researchers. In fact Wikipedian adminsistrators are scaring the research article writers. Thank you very much. God bless you. - Vardeborcartadcodcar [[(Vardeborcartadcodcar (talk) 14:00, 20 April 2008 (UTC))]]
- Thank you for your message. In future, please use my message system to leave messages rather than messing up the headers of my talk page.
- You don't need to put [[ and ]] around everything.
- Please see WP:BIO for the criteria which a person must meet to be included in Wikipedia. Articles will be deleted if they do not indicate how the person is notable and important. Please also see Wikipedia:Manual of style which explains how to structure articles.
- There are some alternative outlets which you might find useful for biographies of people who aren't notable enough to be in Wikipedia. Stifle (talk) 18:21, 20 April 2008 (UTC)

- Indeed, you are quite an excellent, considerate and positive minded Wikipedian!
- I know that the details I have given to build up are actual content, and in factual and verifiable manner. It is a biographical information with substantive content. The biographical note of the the person is important for those who are interested in the realm of Konkani language and Konkani Literature. The biographical notes help to form database for all the researchers. They are in Asia,and Europe as well. Goa and Konkani are not a small names, I believe.
- If, still you insist on finding out a slot viz. alternative outlets, then, I will do so. This is the last attempt on my part of convincing you to not to delete.God bless you.(Vardeborcartadcodcar (talk) 09:58, 21 April 2008 (UTC)).
- If you can indicate, by reference to reliable sources, how the subject of any of the articles I deleted is notable, I will undelete that article. But you haven't convinced me yet. While you might know that the details you have given are good, Wikipedia's verifiability policy requires that anyone be able to check that. Stifle (talk) 10:49, 21 April 2008 (UTC)
The entire write-up, unfortunately has been, deleted. I do not have a separate file. I will contact you, after I will rewrite on the topic, with the help of some of the following related guidelines. Dr. S. M. Tadkodkar
[edit]A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Dr. S. M. Tadkodkar, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? Ashanda (talk) 20:06, 21 April 2008 (UTC)
Hi
I would like to take a little time to explain why the above article will almost certainly be deleted.
Firstly articles on Wikipedia should have a title that is their subject - i.e. if you write an article about Gaudd saraswat Brahmins then the title of the article should be 'Gaudd Saraswat Brahmin'.
Secondly articles must not be copies of any other publication, on or off the web, unless permission has (provably) been given by the author. News reports are in fact copyright. Remember that once an article is contributed to Wikipedia anyone can edit it, and the author no longer has control over it. Not only can anyone edit the article can anyone can copy it for any reason, and many authors don't want that.
Thirdly the article does not conform to the Wikipedia:Manual of style. While ordinarily an article can be rewritten to confirm to that the size and content of your article makes that difficult.
May I suggest that you read Wikipedia:Manual of style and the pages that it links to and rewrite your article at Goud Saraswat Brahmin, conforming to what is said there. Don't forget that you are writing for readers who may know nothing about the subject. DJ Clayworth (talk) 21:12, 21 April 2008 (UTC)
I have edited the title. I have also removed the reference of Saraswati river with reference to the website. Still you are bent on deleting it? (Vardeborcartadcodcar (talk) 21:32, 21 April 2008 (UTC)).
Hi Dr Tadkodar
Since it is possible that the page we are discussing may be deleted soon, I am answering your questions on this page. Please make any replies you have here.
I want to start by explaining some things about what we are doing here. We are trying to build an encyclopedia by cooperative writing. This means that we don't have more than one article on a subject, like a scientific journal might - we always have one article on any subject. The different contributors to the article work together to produce one piece of work. Anyone can contribute to any article at any time.
Because we are an encyclopedia the name of an article (it's title) is always it's subject, not it's author. The title of an article is fixed when you create it. So the title of the article that you get to by clicking here is "Dr. S. M. Tadkodkar".
We already have an article Goud Saraswat Brahmin about the subject you wrote about. What I suggest is that you add to that article instead of creating a new one. Remember that our aim is to create a single article on the subject, not different articles by different people.
Also please note that because we are an encyclopedia all articles should be aimed at a general reader - not at an academic specialist in the field. Many thanks for your contributions. DJ Clayworth (talk) 03:58, 22 April 2008 (UTC)
