Hello Vfinity LLC. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Vfinity LLC. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Vfinity LLC|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. --VVikingTalkEdits 14:27, 18 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]
Your account has been blocked indefinitely from editing because of the following problems: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business, organisation, group, or web site, which is against the username policy.

You may request a change of name and unblock if you intend to make useful contributions other than promoting your business or organization. To do this, first search Special:CentralAuth for available usernames that comply with the username policy. Once you have found an acceptable username, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked. In your reasons, you must:

  • Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure requirement.
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page. HickoryOughtShirt?4 (talk) 14:27, 18 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

Hello, my name is Alex Eliashevsky. I am the owner and CEO of Vfinity, a direct sales company that sells health and wellness products. We own the name, website and trademark Vfinity, and are NOT being paid to promote on this page. We simply want to update this page so that the old company by our same name, which does NOT exist, does not show up in a google search. Any help in what we did wrong would be appreciated. We also want to load our trademarked corporate logo, which is searchable in the USPTO database. The system would not allow us to do so. Thank you Vfinity LLC (talk) 14:35, 18 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

Your contributions were unambiguously promotional. For example, "At Vfinity we’ve taken great care to formulate all of our products with equal parts science, natural ingredients, and functionality! By combining the benefits of science and nature, our products work hand in hand to provide you with energy, overall nutritional wellness, and weight management." You will not be unblocked to continue violating WP:USERNAME, WP:COI, WP:PAID (yes, you count as a paid editor), or WP:PROMO. If you wish to write about subject areas for which you have no conflict of interest, follow the instructions above. Yamla (talk) 14:39, 18 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Request reason:

I updated the paid promotion requirement of your site. What else can I do to proceed to update the information on our business? Your help is greatly appreciated. Thank you

Decline reason:

You can review the information in the block notice and explain how your future edits will be consistent with the policies described therein- and make an unblock request that also proposes a new username per the instructions given. If you want to edit about any topics unrelated to your conflict of interest, please tell what those might be. I am declining your request. 331dot (talk) 19:37, 18 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Also please understand that Wikipedia primarily is interested in summarizing what independent reliable sources state about article subjects, not what they want to say about themselves. If there is incorrect information in the article about your company, there are ways to address that, but you'll need to tell us what those are. Wikipedia articles are not meant as company listings. 331dot (talk) 19:40, 18 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

(edit conflict) Please note the following:

  1. Your username violates Wikipedia's username policy. You cannot use the name of your business as your account name. You would be allowed to use a variation of it that identifies you as an individual, for example "Alex at Vfinity".
  2. Wikipedia only includes articles about companies that meet its notability criteria. Your company must have already received significant coverage from multiple reliable sources that are independent of your company. We have no interest in what a company wishes to say about itself. We are interested in what third-party writers have chosen on their own to publish about it.
  3. If your company is notable enough for inclusion, you will have no right of ownership or control over the article's contents. Articles are paraphrased summaries of information taken from the aforementioned reliable sources, written from a neutral point of view. Both positive and negative information is fair game, provided it is presented with proper balance.
  4. Using Wikipedia for promotion, advertising or publicity is prohibited. Readers expected neutral, factual articles written independently of their subjects.
  5. Copyrighted text or images are not allowed on Wikipedia. All text and images used on Wikipedia are free for copying, re-use, distribrution and adaptation for derivative works, including commercial use. Therefore, you would have to release any copyrighted text or images under a license that is compatible with Wikipedia's.
